Opinion on Company getting Plates 4 Tractor??!!!!

Sorry, Col, after reading the 'Dreamteam's response, I'm flummoxed, too. It's English, alright, and I know what even the big words mean, but I read it twice, and I got nothin. Oh wait - I got something: better things to do.

    100K Buyout

Wonder how the "paid tourist" folks do, when they get the load that puts them on a busy highway on a dark, foggy morning, trying to find the consignee in traffic that wants to go 65 mph, when you can't see any building addresses, nothing that says the name you're searching for, and the contact...

Opinion on Company getting Plates 4 Tractor??!!!!

Admit it, Col: you're not 'horrible confused', just horrible, lol. But you're right, too - if ya don't have the $ for the plates, what's gonna happen when something breaks on the road, eh?

    How far will you go?

If they're gonna provide a 'guest', then they need to provide a guest room, too, cause I don't have one

The "R Word", Going Green, Fuel Costs & Expediting

First: welcome to EO! (Hey, guys, I'm 'one of the guys', right?):D Second: HELLO - have you been here long? Giving our thoughts, opinions, and ideas is what we DO here, with or without invitation, lol. Read for awhile, you'll see what I mean- and you'll see that EO offers much more than that...

Fuel prices and the writers strike

The price of fuel in other countries is irrelevant: we live & work in America. We ought to be concerned with our own government first, and most. The greed of "big oil" is condoned by the current administration, many of whom have a vested interest in the profits. The price of oil is influenced...

    CON-WAY NOW

Thought some of you 'old timers' :p might appreciate an update on Housworth (and that I never heard anyone call Ed "Mr Housworth" is what threw me, at first). I had not heard of them before I began driving for Ruby last April, when I spent a month driving team in her truck, waiting for my own...

Fuel prices and the writers strike

There's no need for anything as drastic as a strike - we could simply slow down to 55, to demonstrate the need to cut fuel costs as much as we can. In a lot of places, running at 55 would make quite a statement, hmmm?

    CON-WAY NOW

I never met Ed Housworth, (but I think I'd have liked him), but Ruby is who I drive for now, and I'll score some Brownie points by telling her that she's a 'legend', lol:D

    San Diego

I'm not using neither one of 'em (except I had to fire up the APU to microwave dinner for 3 minutes) it's a very comfortable 68 degrees here. :D

    San Diego

That driving is mostly a sit-down job is the main reason I prefer it to being a stand-up comedian, lol. (The other reason being that I mainly amuse myself with lame stuff) :D Sorry, Are, I'm hangin out in Eagle P**** Tx, trying to figure a way to take advantage of the zippy breeze by hangin...

    Tolls

There are 5 if you run 294 all the way through, (ie: going from Indiana, which is also a toll road, to Milwaukee), and if you had to U turn, that would double it.

    Tolls

It's like trying to figure an average number of aspirin tablets taken: you can go months with none, then sprain your ankle, and there go the 'averages'...
  15. cheri1122

    Tolls

Either way, Kat, the monthly totals are so wildly variable, that I don't see how you could determine the number to consider an average - some months could conceivably have a VERY high number, you know?

    A newbies tale

I've always enjoyed posts by Aviator, and would consider this thread to be a definite classic - if only for the line "You scratched my truck???" posted by the perennially persnickety Col :p
  17. cheri1122

    Tolls

I have never tried to figure out an 'average' monthly amount for tolls - it's such a variable number, month to month. There are some months with zero, some with very high numbers, due to frequent runs around Chicago, NY, etc, and everything in between. Do any of the more accountant minded...

    CON-WAY NOW

And does anyone have a clue as to who the "Mr Housworth" is?

    Old posts

Here's an idea: a new forum, for threads that we think are going to be classic. There's already a tab for rating threads, so maybe we could make use of it, and if a thread gets enough high ratings, (to be determined by Lawrence or Dreamer), it becomes a classic. I know the archives are full of...

    Can't Log Out

I never log out, and the old format didn't log me out, but this one does, which is a PITA when the internet signal is not good, (like here in Eagle P**** Tx) and I keep getting bounced offline. I don't even know where the button to log out is, lol:eek:
