"Unique properties"?! ROFLMAO!!! Sorry, Leo, but that was funny - only you could come up with such a tactful description of our own resident curmudgeon. But as he says, "if you can't pick the whatever from the whatever it is", (pepper from flyspecks?) then you're just gonna have to be on your...

    Just a really nice guy

Now you've returned the favor, and left me in stitches - or will have, the next time my delicate nature is crawling under the truck to wire up a muffler, or hotwiring it with a screwdriver in the middleofnowhere, at 4 am, or climbing on the tire to clean baked bugs off the windshield! :D:D:D

Even us semi-math-challenged folks could see that teams don't earn twice as much as solos - it's fine to run team when the $ goes into one pocket, but the (potential) increase in income doesn't come close to justifying the inconveniences of sharing such a small space, IMO. Course, I could just...

    Walking into bars

An Irish man walks out of a bar. :p

    Van or Sprinter

That was very well said, ChefDennis. It can be very tough to keep a positive attitude, when things are going downhill, but it's worth the effort, absolutely. Negativity can easily become a self fulfilling prophecy, and it's a battle I don't always win, but am getting better at fighting, anyway...

Then I guess my work here is done. :D:D:D

    Just a really nice guy

TallCall's appearances here are kind of irregular, but I can assure you, he isn't ducking the argument, lol - he will respond, in his own time. And, I look forward to reading his posts, too.:D

Nice words, but meaningless, to me. What, exactly, is the difference? If you truly 'harbor no ill will', then you wouldn't be condemning, now, would you?

One thing that's changed: the candidates. Where are the sort of people who wrote the Declaration of Independence & the Constitution? Where are the folks who put the good of the country ahead of everything else, including their own?

    Bolt Express

Hey, I like to laugh, ok? Even if I gotta do it all by myself.....it can be lonely at the bottom, too, you know. If I don't get a load out of here pretty soon, I may start speaking in tongues - whatever that is. (How else does one speak?) Uh - what was the subject, anyway...

    New Company Owner

Seems to me, if they're inexperienced enough to believe "inflated" promises of recruiters, they wouldn't be your best bet, anyway. As a driver, I can tell you what keeps me with an owner: honesty, fairness, and reliability. (The same things I offer in return, BTW). The best advice I can...

    Bolt Express

I hear he drives for one of the really good ones, a guy named Randy Somethingorother :D (Well, he's not one of the relentless ones, anyway):p

Found this while looking at Garmin GPS

ChefDennis: we recently had an exhaustive discussion of this issue, (probably in the Newbies Forum, if you want to search for it), and I believe the general consensus was that the stand alone GPS wins, hands down. I used MS Streets & Trips for a few years, until I drove team with a lady who...

    Just a really nice guy

OVM, I know what he meant - I was just pointing out how his description (of a behavior of which he clearly disapproves) could be stretched to cover me. And you, too. Because my mother certainly disapproves of the way I've chosen to earn a living! But I was also pointing out that...

Aristotle: "perverse alternative lifestyles"? According to some folks, (well, my mother, at least) that is exactly what I'm doing, driving a truck, solo. You want to remember that the freedoms your ancestors fought to defend include the freedom of religion - which includes the...

    Just a really nice guy

Maybe I misread it, but it seems to me that TallCal's comments were pointed at A: those who are in favor of gun ownership, and B: the irrational reaction some folks have to the issue of other folks' sex lives. TC and I will never agree on the right to bear arms, but I understand his...

    In need of some guidance

Judging by the expression on Molly's face in the photo, if she were going to bark, that'd be the time: at that very weird dog, without the half that wags....:D

    Confounded by Big Cat Giveaways

My theory is that it's like the casinos in Vegas: when you see what kind of money they put into their part (buildings, personnel, etc), you know they're not losing money - but that doesn't mean you can't win some, yourself. The smart money knows when to gamble, and when to walk away. Mostly, my...

    Panther issues

You're about as innocent as that thing Terry had mounted on a plaque, lol, and I'd rather be running some loaded miles - Salt Lake City is wearing thin, about now. (Can't even sink in the durn lake!) I turned down an offer to DH to LA, so I can keep running with whatever gets tossed, until...
