    I hate the word Diet!

Summer is a great time for salad, and I like to toss one up in a plastic bag, from which I can scoop out a cupful (I mean a BIG cup, lol) to snack on while driving. Adding some popcorn chicken or other bite sized meat makes it a good dinner, too, that doesn't need much else in the way of a 'side...

    100% of FSC ?

I am getting tired of the paper boy driving a new car and my wife taking the bus. Little bit of 'class envy' there? Maybe you & Mrs Reverend are supposed to just "offer it up"....along with the offer to "toss more steak & shrimp on the grill" at your beachfront condo, eh?

Never would've thought of doing this

Those runs are hotshots - I did a bit of it when I lived in New Orleans. Mostly parts needed for urgent repairs to the oil rigs, and small enough to be hauled even in a 4 wheeler.

    New annoying ads

Disclaimer: my opinion has not been influenced by having profited from the free advertising available here - it's just my opinion. Advertising is a necessity, and can certainly be useful, but (you just knew there was gonna be a but, right?;)) the ones that flash & blink are annoying, because...

    New Expediting Hot Spot!!!

Dpea, I can't think of a prettier place in the whole country to be a hotspot....:)

    Equipment recommendations

Greg, did you find "The Next Exit" at a bookstore? Cause I was under the impression that the Flying Hook was the sole distributor....;)

    Equipment recommendations

One of the best sources of good ideas are other folks' vehicles, and most are happy to show them off, if you're polite about it. In all the equipment lists, don't forget a basic atlas! :) PS A copy of "The Next Exit" (available at Flying J for around $15) is an excellent resource as well.

How much money do you make?

My point was that even if I told the absolute truth, (and some drivers don't), the info would be meaningless, due to the huge number of variables involved. I feel comfortable referring them to EO, where they can learn everything they might want to know, from the whole spectrum of expediters...

    looking for Freight Board

Pjjjjj, that's excellent advice - great memory, and a great post. :)

    Anyone Know?

I've never asked, because the answer wouldn't matter, if another LEO said it was the opposite, another time. I think the ambiguity is deliberate - "truck" being whatever the LEO on scene says it is, ya know? It's aggravating, but 'better safe than sorry', or risk a speeding ticket, seem to be...

Which Garmin Nuvi Model is Good?

Dude, if all you need to find is WalMart, they sell an atlas for $5.00 that lists every location within a mile or two if the interstate. :) The Nuvi 200 has helped me find everything for a year now, (I keep the volume muted, though), and the only reason I'm upgrading is to play audiobooks...

The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA)

Joe, I think you're just having a hard time with being thought of as "disabled" - perfectly natural, for someone who wants to be, and is used to being, independent. But the spoof wasn't aimed at persons with disabilities, just persons with NO abilities, or desires to obtain some. I'm...

Hit ABC Show Seeks Dynamic Moms Who Drive Trucks For Primetime!

I think it's ok to hijack this thread, as we'll never hear from the OP again.....I wish dispatch were along for my next to last delivery: arrived at consignee after a 600 mile run, tired, hot, and hungry, only to find they had moved, & left no forwarding address. Called phone number on the BOL...

    Mom and Pop

i'm down here in laredo also waiting on a load I sent you a private msg, Guido. Apologies for using the public forum for a private msg, which annoys me - but I'm assuming Guido is unfamiliar with the system, and not ignoring me. Because I bet I can find him, lol. :D:D:D

    Mom and Pop

I should tell "the other side of the story", though: if you need anything from your carrier in the wee hours, bigger is probably better. (Or at least more likely to answer the phone)

    Mom and Pop

When I signed on with Polly Express, (April 2007), I asked if they'd like some 'free publicity', because of the tremendous influence of EO, but they said they preferred to remain small, and I respect that. I'm happy there, as a small carrier is a better fit for me - we try our best to help each...

How much money do you make?

I just say that what I make is none of their business, and if they want to know about expediting, to check out Expediters Online, where they will find a wealth of info & opinions.:)

    Wii Fit

Well, y'all have convinced me, there is something the tv is good for, lol (besides watching DVD movies). So where can I get one, when I'm ready to splurge again?

    60/40 split?

Twould, indeed, Pjjjjjjjjj :p. Since I'm a believer in the "plant your own garden" theory of happiness, I gave myself a little bonus for all my hard work: a lovely little pendant of a dragonfly, in amethyst & turquoise, made by the Zuni tribe. :) Seriously, though: time in service, and loads...
