    Favor of Postcards

I will send some from each state on the route from NJ to Fl, cause I'm on my way. (Starting Monday) PS Instead of postcards, I've got a pretty cool collection of refrigerator magnets from states and cities I've visited - cheap chic, IMO. :D

    Team Driven Decal

Yes, it's a problem, having the Team Operation sticker on the truck - but what do folks who are a team do, when one is driving solo temporarily? India: Garcia certainly does talk back - it's what I call my Garmin, and it doesn't hesitate to tell me where to go. :p

    time

The load I'm on now is 615 miles, with 26 hrs to get it there - I think that's pretty reasonable, lol. If the delivery is unrealistic, I just say no - it's not worth the risks.

Need to assess the level of abuse we just endured!!

It's good to hear about some unethical jerk being made to pay for their actions! To the OP: I am sorry to hear about what a rough time you had - please don't assume all owners are like that, because they're not. The owners of the truck I drive are honest and fair, and there are a lot like them...

    Feeling A Little Dumb

Obviously, reading & paying close attention isn't your best talent, cause what I said is "Anyone who says they've never made a dumb mistake is either a liar, or a brand new driver" I didn't say it's my best talent, either - but I do try to figure out what was said before blasting someone, at least.

    Feeling A Little Dumb

So Hawk, how DID you manage to add 200 miles to a six hundred mile run? :D PS Just want to see if it's better (worse?) than the time I got so lost & behind, that I got "random" drug tested afterwards....

    Feeling A Little Dumb

Any driver who says he's never made a dumb mistake is either a liar, or brand spanking new - or possibly both.

Need to assess the level of abuse we just endured!!

Moose, I can't agree with your logic, sorry. The truck owner provides a safe environment by maintaining the truck in good working order, (aided by the driver), and the rest is up to the driver.WE are responsible for our own safety, not the owner. I pay my workers comp insurance premiums, and I...

    Friendly Reminder

I didn't mean on ramps, I meant the times when lane closures funnel lanes together. 90% of drivers move over and wait their turn, but the bulllies want to zoom past most of them. Only once have I seen an intelligent way to deal with the problem, a sign that said "Use both lanes to merge point...

    Friendly Reminder

Looked at from another perspective, maybe Phil's "bully" driver was simply trying to prevent the real bullies of the road from zooming past a long line of vehicles to cut in at the front. We all know that trucks are a favorite target for them to cut in front of, no? I do my best to prevent them...

    Team Driven Decal

I posted on a thread in the Women's Forum (which Garcia the chauvinist never reads) about having a "Team operation" sticker on the truck, (which I didn't put there, the truck was driven by a team before me), and Highway Star wrote that it wasn't good, because in an emergency, the rescue people...

    India and Frank Hammer

I've not yet had the pleasure of running into India & Frank, though now I'll recognize them if I do :D Thanks for sharing the photo, Phil, it was a nice surprise to see it.

    Birthday! Happy Birthday Linda!

I'm pretty sure there's a rule about spending your birthday in two countries: you must have cake in each, so neither feels slighted, eh? :D Happiest birthday, Linder!

    Baby pictures of Moot

Dave: if you ever meet Lyla in person (can you say that about a dog?) you should probably apologize for calling her Moot, because she is a lot cuter. :D

Play the Picture game, post a pic, who can guess where it's from?

Saw it earlier this week - but where? Wisconsin? Kansas? Missouri?

    !st week running solo

Me too, me too! :DThough I must say that weeks like this are NOT the norm: Picked up in Searcy, Ar, Sat, delivered Park Rapids, Mn, Mon. Picked up in Buhl, Mn, Mon eve, delivered Warren, Mi, Tues eve. Picked up in Avon, Oh, Wed afternoon, delivered Winston Salem Thurs morning. Picked up in...

Why am I having trouble finding a date

Nah, it's the sunglasses. Definitely the sunglasses.

I never been soo insulted and embrassed from a shipper in all my life!!!!

I really like Greg's suggestion: if they accuse you of theft, drive right back, and have them search the truck. (Then insist on detention pay, and the extra mileage!) PS I've done the "ask the pizza delivery guy" thing too - they know where everything is, uh huh. :D

Your least favorite place to deliver

Last time I was in Laredo, there were 2 other drivers from the same carrier. We went to lunch together, and decided we had enough of a majority to threaten a hostile takeover, lol. ;) I loooove a small carrier! :D

    Ike is lookin ugly...

I totally agree with OVM, especially after reading that 40% of Galveston's residents ignored a mandatory evacuation order. Given the example of Katrina, how they could justify staying put, forcing the use of resources & personnel to rescue them, is just mind boggling. If taxpayers have to pay...
