    Disappearing Threads

Col: I 'tink' you might want to read the title of the thread a few more times - we can't reread the post, it got vaporized. But yeah, I hope it will appear again.

4-wheeler causes flatbed to flip on 69!

That people have been sued is why the Good Samaritan laws exist. Laws vary by state, but generally, if your intention is to assist someone (particularly someone in 'imminent danger', which may be a fine line to draw for nonprofessionals) you are protected from liability. According to Wikipedia...

GET IT TODAY! Your Dashboard obama

To keep it short, I think other posters are just asking you to QUIT BOGARTING THE FORUM! :D JMHO Is what I've been saying all along.

4-wheeler causes flatbed to flip on 69!

Is that right? Official company policy is to ignore your moral obligation to render assistance to those in need?

GET IT TODAY! Your Dashboard obama

Chef: I consider your posting habits in general and your telling me to "start my own threads" in particular highly offensive. Having been a member of EO for years, (and having been the Mod in charge of the Soapbox, along with Leo, when it originated), I am aware that the option of starting...

Reality Check.. Loss of an Expediter

Re: For midsouthx answer on scott Bubblehead: not that the link wasn't of general interest, but FYI: you can send a private msg to specific members when the occasion calls for it.

GET IT TODAY! Your Dashboard obama

OK, Chef, just keep insisting that what you're doing is fine because you haven't broken any rules, or been told to stop by the Admin, and when the Soapbox becomes strictly YOUR forum, you'll have accomplished what? ( A hostile takeover, IMO.) A DEAD ZONE Others besides myself have politely...

GET IT TODAY! Your Dashboard obama

What Pjjjjj said. When this Forum was contemplated, I was a Moderator, so I know what was hoped for here: lively discussions of current issues & events from all viewpoints. It has become something else, and it's no longer worth wading through the wallpaper to find any intelligent discussions...

    Njoy

"NJOY is an electronic cigarette device that allows a smoker to satisfy their nicotine craving without inhaling all of the tar, carcinogens, carbon monoxide, or other chemical agents associated with traditional tobacco smoking. NJOY is not a tobacco product. NJOY is a device that creates water...

    Where were you in 1999?

Working as an LPN on the Trauma Unit, MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Oh, and coming to terms with the fact that nursing just wasn't what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Also recovering from the infection and removal of my right kidney. By the end of the year, I knew that some...

Another thing: why isn't anyone banning the QC? That thing is a MAJOR distraction, ya know?

    Things we thought everyone knew

That was an eggscruciatingly lame pun :D Pilot's 'Challenge' mag almost, if not every month, has a coupon for a free fax - April issue is pg 59. This one is from Mr Snappy: the round locks we use are known for collecting water inside, which leads to rust. A tennis ball with a slit cut into it...

    a cut above part 2

I am sure that more accidents have been caused by drivers who were not on the phone at the time than by those who were, so should we ban that behavior? Your logic is fuzzy, Broker.

    GPS Led You Astray?

I learned early on not to blindly trust technology: sitting at a red light in Laredo, watching in amazement as the little car icon went nuts - straight for the river at 190 mph, lol. (That was MS Streets & Trips, BTW, but the Garmin gets wonky in Laredo, too.)

    Relationships

I've met Bryan's kids, and can attest to their having their heads on straight. Even the one who said I sound like a Munchkin on the phone - bonus points for honesty and originality, IMO. Hey Moot: are those Mootpoint redemption places 24 hrs, like the ATMs that Flying Hook advertises? (I don't...

    Funny things drivers have done

I snagged a couple overhead cables that got caught in a loose strip of metal above the box doors. Then I compounded the goof by asking Moot to bring some wire cutters over, (I knew he & Bryan were at the Indy J), and I failed to ensure that Moot wasn't carrying his camera.... The photo he posted...

    a cut above part 2

Scuba's point is a good one: the root cause is driving while distracted, not the mode of specific (current) distraction. The only thing that might change behavior is a campaign to educate and remind drivers that driving requires all one's attention, all the time. I think it's long overdue.
