Why does it work for some?

I don't know how to incorporate quotes from several posts into one, either....:o But I know that typewriter, calculator, and computer all originally referred to a person, rather than a machine. And that the day we stop learning, we are actually [if not medically or legally] brain dead. :)

    What do we look like?

Me too, because I've seen him once in 4 years, lol. Though it wasn't deliberate with TJ [wavin 'hi!'' :D

I have two questions about my GMC cargo van!!

Until you get the Netbook, you can use a computer at the local library - easy to do in a van, esp now that there are helpful signs posted showing where they are. Or just ask the locals. :)

    What they sell at MATS???

Au contraire: vendors at MATS will offer better deals [sometimes they just don't wanna haul a lot out of there, & will sell it cheap] than you'd get otherwise. It helps if you know what a good deal is, though, so price shop first.

Why does it work for some?

One common denominator all [that were listed] have in common is a sense of humor ;) Maybe it's an attitude of deciding to want what you have, rather than vice versa....

    Cargo Van

A dealership can recommend a local place that installs aftermarket cruise - had it done on my van when I bought it.

    Introduction: Better late than never

Welcome, Moonstrucker! If you've been lurking awhile, then you don't need any advice, and already have a pretty good idea of who most of us are, I bet. Jump right in, the water's wet, anyhow...:D

    What do we look like?

cheri, cant quite figure out yet. Some days I resemble the windshield: Clear & bright & good. :) Others: I look like the bug You hurry to scrape off the hood! :o In other words - just average. Sorry, Dynamite, I can't draw a bead on you just yet, either....

    Orientation

Chris: keeping the DH low is one of the most important factors in profit vs loss. Not just because you pay for the fuel, but also from the standpoint of wear & tear on your vehicle, and time & energy used. DHing 800 miles out of Laredo will leave you too tired to run a load when you get to where...

The Headline Typo We've All Been Waiting For

This from the alleged adult who can't refer to a single elected person up to and including the President without *******izing [can't wait to see if that gets past the censor, lol] their name in some childish way? Yeah, right.

    Two Annoying news stories

I read the WalMart story yesterday, and was amazed at the fact that the local authorities offered 'counseling' to anyone who felt traumatized, and that several people "expressed interest in being counseled" If the "People of WalMart" vids don't scare the stuffing out of them, how does a...

What makes a company good to lease on to?

Vinny: some of us are happy with both a fleet owner [the one for whom I drive is the best I've ever seen] and a smaller carrier. Neither of them has ever shorted my pay, or cheated me in any way. To each his own, yes?

    What do we look like?

I see Mindy as a tiny but powerful dynamo :) [ I saw a Panther van with a Wingnut front license plate the other day - any idea whose?]

    What do we look like?

I see Bruno riding a bike off a pier :D and Moot snorting pimientos [or whatever] out both nostrils when he reads 'his grandchildren' - he hasn't got any [yet] LOL

    Pirating

Leo: you sound just like the sea Captain in one of Mark Twain's stories, who couldn't see the need for a trial of a man he knew to be guilty - the Captain wanted to hang him on the spot, saving everyone time & trouble. But there is a reason for due process, and bypassing it is not a good idea...

    March 2010 Location

We carried our beloved Rottweiller up & down steps for the last year of her life - worth every bit of effort, IMO. That's a looong life for a dog, Chef - and it doesn't make it any easier when it's over, I know. Hope you can be there for both your wife and the dog when the time comes. :(

    What do we look like?

Of those I haven't met, I see Aristotle as a marble head on a pedestal, Poorboy as a homeless bum, Steady Eddie as a crybaby [must be the avatar], and Sockhat [because of the post on finding a nudist camp] as a guy wearing nothing between the socks & hat.... I see Turtle as Yoda, but him I...
