    Have a challenge-Need a creative idea

The mirror seems to be the easiest solution, and it works: there's one in Point Marion, Pa, where you have to pull onto a main street without being able to see what's coming. A 'Hidden drive' sign may be disregarded, even if present.

How was business for you in 2010

Great advice, LOS. It was a very good year for me, too: I have both a fleet owner and a carrier I'm happy with, and once again, I haven't had to hock my diamonds. :D Just about to pick up a rental car & take a week off to spend the holidays with family, so if I don't talk to y'all till next...

"Dream Act" immigration bill blocked in Senate

I don't think anyone has, so far, served in the military - it's a proposal to allow them to do so, in pursuit of citizenship.

Seriously Jim - have you never showered with a same sex group? I haven't since high school, but I really don't think that it would lead to any 'unwelcome advances' - you admitted that gay men aren't out to convert straights, right? All the angst is in some men's heads - haven't seen anything...

How will this affect us? End of cell phone use!

No insurance claim for this one, but I backed into the garage once, too, and it was my ex husband's fault- really!:D I'd asked him a million times to turn the radio volume down after he drove my car, [I didn't like the music he blasted, especially when half asleep], but he rarely bothered. One...

"Dream Act" immigration bill blocked in Senate

Wonder if anyone pointed out to Durbin [et al] that if "all they want to do is serve this country", they can start by observing the law: go back to Mexico [or wherever they were born] and start over, the legal route.

    Favorite runs of the year?

I did one to Grand Isle, and a friend called to warn me about the speed trap in Golden Meadows, about 10 minutes after they got me. :( PS I'll be doin the winter sports tomorrow: Darlington, SC to Cleveland, Oh, but I came down from Ft Wayne, it wasn't too too bad.....

Do you think all gay men are looking to 'convert' straights? And why should an unwelcome advance from one guy to another be any different than one from a guy to a woman who isn't interested? Y'all can say "no, thank you" same as we do, right? And no, I don't think all men are rapists - but...

You could be right, some may take it too far, deliberately provoking a response. But I don't agree that 'the beater' would be blamed, in that case, because provocation is taken into account in allegations of assault. If someone is going to ask for it, then they deserve what they get.

I've known a lot of gays, male and female, and two things were clear to me: they didn't 'choose' to be society's outcasts, and they didn't have the slightest interest in 'converting' anyone else. They know better than anyone, that it cannot be done. The suggestion that I shower with the door...

    Murder or job well done?

I've zero sympathy for crooks, having worked for what I have, my entire adult life. But vigilante 'justice' cannot be tolerated, either. A homeowner who chases the guy down has the right to restrain him, but not to shoot him - there is no imminent threat to justify that. I wonder how those in...

Copdsux asked a very pertinent question, which no one has answered: if you believe sexuality is a choice, when did you choose yours?

Welcome to EO! Could you elaborate, please, on the 'stupidity' category?

I just read of one officer who was discharged after a superior officer read his personal email, so some aren't going willingly, or violating the DADT rules, either. The only thing proven by the 'core beliefs' of millions is that millions can be wrong. As when they believed the earth was flat...

    Favorite runs of the year?

My favorite run is any that lets me drive along Flathead Lake in Idaho, or along the Columbia River. For 'dollas!', it was a round trip between Christmas & New Year's last year, from Barstow, Ca, to Havre, Mt, & back - very rewarding. And very, VERY cold, too.

    Don't Trust People on Facebook.

Facebook can also be used to catch some bad [and stupid] people. Shortly after my daughter & her family moved from a rental house in Pa to one they bought in Fl, their tax refund check was delivered to the old house, and not forwarded. The IRS, after awhile, said it had been cashed in Pa, so my...

How will this affect us? End of cell phone use!

They better fix the radios, too, so they play only weather & traffic - I see drivers singing along to the music, and you just KNOW they aren't paying enough attention to what's going on around them, right?

How will this affect us? End of cell phone use!

The biggest distraction I've ever had to deal with as a driver was my children: wailing babies & arguing for years after that. Ban them?
