    Which way to go???

Call some more carriers, large and small.

stolen van AND MY DOG 2 YEAR OLD YORKIT

Just talked to Jeff, and it's still up in the air whether he'll be returning home in a rental car [insurance] or a bus, but most likely, I'll be heading to Dallas in a couple hours to take him wherever he needs to go [not home, though]. Like everyone who posted, the only thing he is worried...

Hats off to the CEO of Panther Andy Clarke

In spite of all the bickering we do here, [guilty:o], we remain a community, and it's truly great to hear about the good we can do. Congrats to Andy [no waking up with a dead battery this year, eh?:D] and to Wombat [if you do end up holding a sign, be sure to put 'Wombat' on it, so we can toss...

stolen van AND MY DOG 2 YEAR OLD YORKIT

I had to DH to Texarkana for truck repair, but I've just left a voicemail on the OP's phone [in one post, he says 'we', so I'm assuming there's another person whose phone he's using] offering to return to Dallas this evening if I get no load - and at this point, there probably won't be a load...

    What do you call someone

Based on Pilgrim's clip, the [many] trolls here aren't on the Soapbox, even. And I'm sure many would agree with your assessment - many believe they've been abducted by aliens, too, and Elvis is working at a Pack n Sack in Texas. The world is full of nuts, right?:D

    What do you call someone

Whereas I see it as different because [as I already posted], dislike of the POTUS isn't exactly newsworthy, while the Wikileaks story is. And the Obama stuff wasn't checked for accuracy, something I believe the poster has an obligation to do - how can anyone dispute or refute them, when they...

Jim Morrison: Doors singer pardoned by Florida governor

The line that got my attention was that Gov Crist "has been thinking about it since 2008" because it doesn't look statesmanlike to rush such important decisions, uh huh. "Mass hypnosis"? Who is he kidding?!

    congratulation LOAD1

I believe the word you meant is drivel. And actually, 'getting involved' is exactly what the mods are supposed to do, when the situation calls for it - else why are they here? When multiple threads get swamped with useless drivel, either someone reins it in, or people lose interest and go...

Wikileaks under attack: the definitive timeline

Gravity: not just a good idea, it's a law! Ya know, I always thought that a disagreement between Turtle & RLENT would be really interesting to follow.....you guys are making my head ache & my eyes bleed.

    What do you call someone

Your surprise at what Lawrence is allowing stems from your lack of knowledge as to what Lawrence does and doesn't do here. And if this were your board and you deleted 20-30 threads a day, those with an IQ greater than their shoe size would be elsewhere. O - is that why you're here, because...

    west coast runs

I think it would be wise to specify what size & type vehicle, when you're asking. The response that a given carrier has a lot of loads out west isn't much use if they mean C & D reefers, and you have something else.

    You underestimate JJ, seriously.

    What do you call someone

Just a wee bit passive aggressive? More to the point, what do YOU call him? Or are you just inviting others to offer opinions, while you stay safely quiet? Because that's just what a weasel would do. :(

    What do you call someone

1 Wikileaks and Julian Assange are closely related, but not the same: the man may become disassociated with the organization at some point, but it will continue, same as Apple without Jobs. 2 Dislike of Obama is hardly a newsworthy topic - negativity towards the POTUS has always, and undoubtedly...

Hey - I mentioned Load 1, which is closer than 800 of the prior posts!

"Even a broken clock is right twice a day" ;) 'Ignore' is for folks who want to hear only what they want to hear, IMO. No matter how much I may generally disagree with someone, I still want to hear what they have to say. Well - mostly. I could do without most of the inane, trite, and repetitive...

    Which way to go???

I should mention also that it is possible to get your own authority, [and insurance, etc], and book whatever loads you can get - but it's not something an inexperienced person should start out doing. I am impressed that even experienced folks can manage it - that's multitasking with a capital M...

    Which way to go???

What keeps you from it? Your carrier - it's their authority and insurance you're running with, and expedited means exclusive use of the truck. That said, there are times when you can do this, [it's called a backhaul] with some carriers [Panther is one]. They have rules about how it's to be done...

    Birthday! Happy Birthday Lawrence

Happy birthday wishes to Elmo [that's LM in the middle of EO, lol] and his lovely bride - who both deserve the very best life can grant. :)

    A child's bible

The things children misapprehend can be pretty funny. Author Malachy McCourt titled a book "A Monk Swimming" after a phrase that he misapprehended as a child: 'amongst women' because it always puzzled him, having heard it from a priest [and in those days, in Ireland, children didn't question the...
