    Cut/GUT the Military Budget??????

You know in all honesty, we need to cut a few specific areas out of the budget completely - NATO, funding of operations that the EU security forces can handle, the dropping of foreign aid through the military budget and the UN security operations funding which both come out of the defense budget.

Remember the 2010 mileage rate is less

Just a reminder, it only applies to vans.

    Cut/GUT the Military Budget??????

But many don't get that the funding of the war(s) were done with additional bills presented in congress and has not been a 'real' part of the overall defense budget. Once the war(s) wind down, the additional funding will cease. The real problem I see is a political one, who will have the nerve...

    Teamsters vs Toys R US

    Udate on stupid mistake.

I hope you recoup your money. BUT with that said ... Hope you understand this comment; No one forces anyone to enter into this business and if you accept a crap truck, who is to blame but you? Remember this is not a lifestyle nor is it a paid vacation or what ever, it is a business and...

    Cut/GUT the Military Budget??????

We need a cut across the board of 10% except defense spending. The entitlements are the place they need to be cut the most, starting with social programs like Medicaid, Medicare and further rethinking of Social Security being changed. Most will agree that defense spending has to have more...

Sen. Whitehouse says companies get a tax break for moving jobs overseas

If you were in retail, then you completely understand why it is happening - we want cheap stuff.

    Some honest questions about FSC

From that other thread; The Congressional Record is the minutes of the congress, not the legislative record. So let me clear this up. CFR 39, part 137 has no section in it about FSC. It has to do with rates, who does what and how rates are passed on. The house in 2005 passed as part of the...

Sen. Whitehouse says companies get a tax break for moving jobs overseas

You seem to only focus on one little part of the tax code when it is the entire tax code that is structured to allow this. There are a lot of ways to make this happen if you need to. The tax liability is not as important as many make it out as. When this is brought up by labor, they make it...

    Some honest questions about FSC

Cheri, There is absolutely no legal obligation for the carrier or an owner to charge a FSC. Moral one yes but not legal. The link that was provided is not the US code, it is a discussion about an amendment to one of the highway bills. Never passed and never made it into law.

Sen. Whitehouse says companies get a tax break for moving jobs overseas

Er ... who cares? The problem is this will not stop any company from moving production overseas. The first thing what the act doesn't do is prevent the use of competitive labor or close to the source material. The second thing is companies like GM have benefited with this loophole by...

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

I am sort of taken back on Phil's obtuse response. I mean now that involves "him", it is a problem but before it wasn't. However, as I read Phil's response something else hit me, he is being a bit hypercritical. I mean isn't he the one who complained about the roving safety guy for his company?

Best place to finance or lease a Sprinter van?

I think this is another illustration of this whole problem with a lot of people who see money and don't get the idea that they need not to step into a bigger mess. If your finances are crap, then you are better off not trying to put more of a burden on yourself and drag your credit rating...

I thought vans were closed for a while. I would think that with the 'slight' slowdown, it would be a wise move not to recruit the entire van membership of EO :D

Best place to finance or lease a Sprinter van?

If your credit is crap, forget it. Save the money, buy a used van (not a sprinter) and go from there. Get something that won't put you in a mess if the carrier won't keep you loaded. You are an employee? driving a company van?

Ok Everyone, LET ME HAVE IT! Poor it on hard!

Yesteryear, I hope you don't think I called you an idiot. I think you are on the right track. Deville, it was the FSC posted, not the rate and beside I don't hear complaints about vans running flat rate for under a buck - that's cheap freight. Phil, you need glasses. On my wifes' netbook I...
