    Instant karma?

Or just a self fulfilling prophecy? Either way, a pretty **** powerful message. Texting Driver Plunges Off Cliff: DNews Nugget : Discovery News

    Lot Lizards

As in everything pertaining to sex, the only acceptable standard is consenting adults, so no. I didn't think that point needed to be made, sorry.

    Best Olympic achievement EVER!!

Oscar Pistorius' Olympic debut inspires fellow amputees The Olympics are about inspiration, and IMO, it doesn't get any better than this.

    That facebook thingie

Of course it is, if they're not paying attention. Example: I went to a wonderful place with my daughter's fam in Fl - an intractive place [Imaginarium? Looks like the whole bldg's upside down] with really cool stuff. One that we liked a lot was a glass walled room, with a long rectangular table...

    Lot Lizards

I totally agree with Xiggi: it should be legal. Especially because it so often happens that the sex for money transaction underlies a seemingly 'proper' relationship - it just isn't admitted as such. How many women sleep with men who spend money on dinner, gifts, etc, and what's the difference...

    Warning Bad Driver!

The OP is a well respected member here - I wouldn't suggest he'd give anyone bogus info of any kind. The driver in question is a different sort of person, the sort who plans for being sought after, and not with pleasant results. Those sort of people don't make it easy to be found, is what I'm...

What I love most on EO!

The irony is that it's often the worst offenders who are quick to take offense - the only 'official' reprimand I've ever got on EO was for asking a driver if he was too stupid to drive when he posted a question about hazmat - AFTER delivering the load. I'd do it again, too, lol. :p

    August locations and banter

OVM: the Pacific NW is worth the trip - and definitely take Juju along! Running 90 alongside the Columbia River is one of the most beautiful routes in the whole country, and the Columbia River Gorge is just breathtaking. Idaho is pretty awesome, too :D

    August locations and banter

So many drivers feel that way that dispatch probably thinks we all do - but I LOVE going to Florida. [It's where my #1 daughter and granddaughters live.] I'd especially love to go the first week of Sept, when daughter #2 will be there also. ;) I bet TJ would like to go then too, [he knows #2]...

    Warning Bad Driver!

Lugnut: people who expect others to come looking for them with pitchforks [and rightfully so] don't keep the same phone number for long, they most likely use prepaid throwaway cell phones for just that reason. I'm against tracking devices for several reasons, mostly philosophical , and resent...

Vermont farmer in tractor crushes seven police cars

My favorite imaginary visual: the moment when the 911 operator realized that the location of the vehicles being crushed was 1: right outside her window, and 2: right where she parked her own vehicle. OVM: thanks for the reminder. That's the second time in 6 months, the first being the...

    Warning Bad Driver!

The worst part is that it's the 'little guy' that gets slammed - jerks like that driver know that the bigger carriers have the resources to thoroughly check backgrounds & references, and to pursue those who don't live up to their commitments. But even the littlest guys can network and exchange...

What I love most on EO!

As much fun as it is to be snarky, it's always a balancing act: those who have confidence [like THawk] don't have any problem with someone pointing out a goof, cause we all do it sometimes. But some people just aren't good at writing, and criticizing them only keeps them from speaking up when...

Charlize Theron deserved an Oscar just for managing to look ugly, IMO. And yes, there was a lot of food for thought in the movie.

How Are You Coping With the Heat?

If you leave a stick of butter out [salted doesn't need refrigeration] as I do, crummy AC gives you an excuse to have lobster and corn on the cob for dinner, at least. ;)

Vermont farmer in tractor crushes seven police cars

I loved the fact that the cops were oblivious to the mayhem in their parking lot, until someone called 911. And that many commenters offered to contribute to the guy's defense fund, lol. After getting dinged for yet another trivial 'violation' on a Level 1 inspection [1 adhesive reflector fell...

    Warning Bad Driver!

Perhaps it would help if you could say why you were fooled by this guy - did he present a good work history, a convincing story, or what? I hope you'll keep us posted on the progress and outcome, it might be a good lesson for some who think that abandoning the van/truck/freight is no big deal...

    warrning bad owner

Zorry: I didn't know about the 'rate this ad' feature, as I rarely look at the ads. It seems a good way to get a thumbs up or down to those who could use the info. As was said already, it helps to be specific [saying 'he/she sucks!' isn't much good] and stick to the facts. Word of mouth and...

    Why you need to carry.

It's a no brainer: my Constitutional rights are important, but I choose to forego this one - as long as it's my choice, [I could hang up the keys and get a {gulp} job], I can live with it.

    Worst National Anthem Ever???

Anacreon Star-Spangled Banner AstroCocktail Link to the original music, to which Francis Scott Key's poem "Defense of Fort McHenry" was set, as he intended. Not exactly a drinking song, "The Anancreontic Song" was written by John Stafford Smith, a member of a London 'Gentleman's Club'...
