    Any Suggestions

If there's a carrier that rewards inexperience with maximum income and 'perks', I've never heard of them. Most consider experience to be worth more, and most drivers & O/O understand that, and expect to work towards maximum income and benefits/perks, not be handed them from the get -go. With...

Who should you use to send Hazmat?

That picture is totally unfair - now I feel bad too! It's hard enough to get more women to speak up here [and you might be surprised to find some are pretty knowledgeable] when we seem to be invisible sometimes. I know you didn't mean it that way, I was just being snarky & you don't deserve it...

Cargo Theft, estimated to be 35 billion a year.

Construction zones I understand, as citations may need to be written for drivers who don't slow down. And with the fines in the exorbitant range [saw one in NC today advertised as $2500] they want an airtight case behind them. Escort duty, though, puzzles me.

Who should you use to send Hazmat?

And I'm chopped liver? At least the "2 highly respected members" acknowledged me - and neither sent me to fetch a beer, so that's progress, eh? Thanks, guys.

    Cleveland Frieghtliner

The parts & repair facility located at W 150th & Brookpark Rd in Cleveland, Oh, burned to the ground today. So far, no word on the many trucks parked in the lot, some of which are often expediters.

Cargo Theft, estimated to be 35 billion a year.

Yep, it's the insurance companies who suffer the losses of cargo theft, a [generally] nonviolent crime. So I'm wondering whether they pay any part of the cost of devoting 10 CHP officers exclusively to this issue? It's the same question for 'art thieves' - don't the insurance companies have...

What I love most on EO!

He really should get his keyboard fixed - replacing the missing 'l' with an 'h' wasn't such a good idea, eh? :p

    Warning Bad Driver!

On the subject of bad drivers, they don't get any worse - poor owner [literally - that truck is half his assets!] is left trying to collect from the DEA. Pretty soon, he'll probably be another 'lazy bum expecting handouts from those who work for a living', sigh.

Whats the strangest thing you have hauled?

If we're voting, LOS' art load wins, no question - it doesn't get any stranger than that one. [Though I really liked the frozen carrot, lol] My strangest load was an aircraft nose cone.

Who should you use to send Hazmat?

Phil: you said it yourself, in your third paragraph: "what hazmat is for a truck driver is something else" Because it's what hazmat is for a truck driver [that would be us] that concerns us, not what it is for the rest of the world.

Who should you use to send Hazmat?

Phil: I'm not seeing where your point is supported by the snippet you quoted - it says "the term includes [ellipse] materials designated as hazmat" but it doesn't follow that every substance listed in the hazmat tables is hazmat in every instance. Same as every commercial vehicle isn't...

    Warning Bad Driver!

Why the passive aggressive hostility? I mean really - if someone doesn't answer your request within minuets it might be because they're busy elsewhere, not because they don't intend to. And who's 'we'? Is it the royal 'we', or do you represent others?

    Instant karma?

It was a similiar case that the FMCSA cited as 'proof' when they banned cellphones for commercial drivers: a teenager texting nonstop. [Ironically, the only non commercial driver involved in the crashes, and the only one using a cellphone at all - go figure how that translates to CDL drivers...

"Stink thinkin", but it got me to wondering

Hazmat: not all carriers require it. I dropped the cert last time, as I don't choose to haul it any longer. The insulin rule though, isn't up to the carrier, it's a DOT requirement. One can obtain a waiver if on insulin, but I hear the the process is difficult. Worth pursuing further, certainly.

What I love most on EO!

Done. And all I can say is that when you post a question on a public board, not every reply will be what you wanted - goes with the territory. And that no one can make you feel stupid without your cooperation, so why give them the satisfaction? They can [and often will] point out your mistakes...
