Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

That is the other shoe that is about to drop. Most of the talk has been on the web site. Bigger issues are looming behind that. On a side note, I do agree one consistently running their AGI at or near zero is not a recommended strategy.

What are you going to do ?

The impact won't really hit until after January. And only then depending on whether it is enforced or not. Right now it is too early to tell.

What are you going to do ?

It will be interesting to see if they actually enforce it. But we will want more money to go in there with compliant trucks. Carriers will have to pay it as the supply will fall off unless they go to the truckload carriers with newer trucks. As for expedite, it will likely be the better...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

I guess on the funny side, the very people that voted for Obama (the young college kids), are the ones they want to pay for insurance for the plan to be viable. Somebody has to pay for the old folks and people with pre-existing conditions. They all voted for this clown and only now are they...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

Don't laugh....that is basically what this is. A family of say 4 that has health insurance, will be paying for health care for say three families. Remember..."It takes a Village". When the family decides they don't want to pay, they of course have to provide through a penalty plus still pay for...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

This is basically a redistribution of wealth in response to Phil & Joe. You will be paying insurance for the takers with your new premiums. As Joe posted, he will make monthly premium payments for the poor and then pay his services out of pocket until he hits 14k which is his deductible...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

You can buy outside of the exchanges but those policies for 2014 have to have all the Obamacare goodies in them. If not, you can still purchase but will have the Obama "tax" to contend with because you didn't purchase a "qualifying" plan.

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

Some things are misleading. Part of the reason they wanted you to sign up before you could shop the exchanges. Many will see a cheaper rate of say 350 a month, but that is for only 2013. When you have to cover in 2014 all the extras you won't ever use, that rate basically doubles. Including of...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

Blue Cross is one of the largest underwriters in the exchanges. Plans that didn't meet the guidelines were cancelled, but they are writing approved plans, but of course they cost more. They are saying some rural areas only have one or two plans to chose from. So much for competition. On a...

Engine Start Module - Maxwell Technologies

My concern is only a couple of service points and no real indication of shelf life. The other thought is with a additional capacitor installed in the starting system, does that void a manufacturers warranty?

    It's a Team's Life Government Shutdown: It's a Teams Life

While your post isn't directed at me, I will give my thoughts at first glance. Pre-existing conditions shouldn't matter. However, weight and smoking will effect rates. How do you know? Because they ask. Here is where I got a basic of rates. Put your basic info and zip in and you can shop the...

Has anyone converted a school bus into an expeditor?

In Florida we cut halfway down to just below the passenger windows and convert them to orange & watermelon haulers. When the season is in, you will see them running north on 95 and 75.

Has anyone converted a school bus into an expeditor?

Don't think I have ever seen a Panther Expedite bus. Ever. Are you sure you don't have that confused with the Black Panthers? They are in Arkansas.

    Looking For Advice

All good advice for anyone starting out. As mentioned, 60 percent of the linehaul and 100 percent of the FSC is what should be paid as a basic premise.

It would be standard assuming you are getting 100 percent of the fuel surcharge. Think I would ask to make sure.

How are things going this year?

Many businesses suffer the same thing. Fast food restaurants have dollar menus just like we do.

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

The threshold in my opinion will hit in the second year and beyond. For example, a driver in the second year that makes 50k, will pay a 1,000 dollar fine based on 2 percent. And of course it increases after that. Additionally, many of the lower (bronze) plans carry a deductible of 12k plus...

    Newbie looking for advice.

For us.....one better like sleeping in the same bed. Granted the bed is large, but it is only has one in the truck.

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

What I don't like with the new plans I seen is providing coverage for items that I would never use. Why should I pay for that? As of 2014 I will have coverage for pregnancy, mental health, drug addiction, dental, optical, for kids, and a handful of other items including womens birth control...
