    Question about truck stop showers

Yes. We always shower together. Just get one shower and go on about your business. Ask for extra towels if you need them.

    Winter wipers on a Sprinter

I had one that had a 2 inch section on the end come unglued. I cut it off and used a heat gun to melt it smooth on the edge. That wiper is now longer than the slush buster. It still seems to work fine.

    New HOS Rules are out

I based it on the 44 cpm. I didn't talk to the driver. It may be surface expedite all miles.

    New HOS Rules are out

I would suspect that the FDCC driver was a team driver. 22 cents a mile for a team driver in a straight truck isn't far from the norm. $1.10 loaded with no FSC at 40% is 44 cents per mile split between two drivers. You should see what CRST, Swift and the other big companies pay there team drivers.

    Do you members do anything?

I'm not. I gave up years ago. I found it a better use of my time to do something where I can actually see an out come. Although we did write our letters to FMCSA about HOS. That turned into another waste of time as we have seen in the new rule that no one listened.

    New HOS Rules are out

I thought about the "dregs" comment too. (Definition of the dregs of society/humanity from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary & Thesaurus © Cambridge University Press) a group of people in society who you consider to be immoral and of no value Doesn't everyone have to pass the...

More or less Expediters on the road

I think there are more CV's, less straight trucks and about the same number of tractor trailers. I haven't heard of any large expedite companies buying more trailers, except FDCC. I would bet that the number of new straight trucks sold this year is less than the number that were retired. A...

More or less Expediters on the road

Do you think that there are more or less drivers working in the expedite industry than there were last year. Every week drivers come and go. I am just wondering if the overall number has changed much.

    Starving this year?

From Nov. 30 to Dec 18 we ran 9 loads for 6362 loaded miles with our new carrier. And we were home for 4 days during that time. This was with our new carrier where we have not yet learned the system.

    Starving this year?

We noticed that too. It seems like all FDCC wants is a fleet of TT's and a bunch of red KW's.

how shopping for van stuff ends in detainment>?

I believe this story. I have 23 & 19 year old stepsons. mxzane is 22 years old and probably has a bit of money in his pocket. A machete for 5 bucks would be appealing.

how shopping for van stuff ends in detainment>?

I agree, get a lawyer and fight it. My stepson was a minor and in High School at the time. It almost stopped him from being qualified to join the Navy. The Judge was sympathetic and just had him take some type of class and threw out the charge.

how shopping for van stuff ends in detainment>?

Wait until you get the letter from the lawyer offering to make the charge go away for a few hundred bucks. My stepson, not thinking, put a CD in his coat pocket so that he would have both hands free to carry something heavy that he was purchasing. He never made it to the check out line where he...

    New HOS Rules are out

That was my point. There is a lot of freight that requires Driver Protective Services. Some non explosive DOD, other government agency's freight, high dollar value freight, electronics, video games, etc., etc. How will that freight be protected if both drivers are off duty?

    New HOS Rules are out

Someone will just have to explain to the customers that there freight will only be watched 23.5 hours per day. I'm sure the DOD will adjust. Imagine this new macro for the QC. Freight unsecure, both drivers off duty, back in 30 minutes. Maybe this could open up a whole new area of business...
