What Truck stop do you use.

Our truck runs smoother and gets better MPG with T/A or Petro fuel. We don't like the showers or food offerings at Loves, Pilot or Flying J. And the T/A's generally let us park out front away from the 53 foot demolition derby.

    Fantastic Pistols

Wow. And a great presentation too. I wonder if there are any craftsman around that could duplicate that level of workmanship.

What Does the EO Open Forum Mean to You?

To me EO is the expedite information super highway. Where else can you learn so much from so many for free. Almost any question will be answered quickly and most times correctly. And the personalities on here are endless. I find it my number 1 source of entertainment while at home or on the...

Rims on a van and buisness?

Just buy 4 stock steel wheels and have them chromed. Like they did in they old days of hot rodding. That way you get your bling and still have the load carrying capacity.

    Now THAT'S a sleeper!

I saw a Prevost tour bus that someone cut about 12 feet out of the back and mounted a box with a liftgate to haul motorcycles. It was a pretty good job considering that a Prevost has a rear engine.

    the LNG trucks are coming

I think it is a great idea too. I am sure they will work out the safety issues with fueling, fuel tank placement on the vehicles etc. LNG is a lot more volatile than diesel. I don't know about saving any weight. The motors may become lighter but the fuel tanks will most likely be heavier. A...

    fedex winter break

Those that have a reefer and liftgate or that are on flat rate usually get out pretty quick. The bobtails usually get told to leave by security within a few minutes of arriving.

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

He found a small company in Missouri that has company drivers and owner operators. The said they would sign him on and have a company driver run with him for 2-3 weeks doing 200-300 mile runs. They seemed to be more worried about his ability to tie down and tarp the freight. He can get the...

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

If he could hire a co driver with several years of verifiable experience would a carrier except them. That way he could gain experience and make money.

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

He's going to buy it if he can. He has to arrange it with the trustee of his uncles will. He just doesn't know what to do with it. As asked in the OP, would anyone let him run it? Or would he better off selling it at a profit and pocketing the cash?

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

No living relatives except my friend and his brother. He was thinking of selling his straight truck and giving the flat bed a try. It would be a shame to give it back to the bank with so little owed. I am not sure of the amount but the payments were around 2k and there is only about 10 left.

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

The truck is a 2008 KW. The trailer is a 2009 step deck. The sale is due to the death of the O/O who was my friends uncle. He is thinking about buying it for what is owed, which is very little. The question he has is what would he do with it other than resell it?

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

In talking with a friend today who is also a straight truck operator a hypothetical situation was brought up. If a straight truck driver were to purchase a tractor and trailer would any carrier lease them on without recent experience? This driver has a class A CDL and more than 3 years OTR...

here ya go you guys 1 for everyone

Leave the trucks white. Otherwise everyone would think that you are advertising for an expedite company called RS. That was another reason for suggesting the move of the RS logo to the sleeve.

    Sending 1099 to your Carrier

Why bother? It's already a tax deductible business expense.

here ya go you guys 1 for everyone

I like the design, but I think it would look better if you removed the word "by" and moved the Road Shredder logo onto the outside of the sleeve. That way you could make any type of shirt design you wanted and always have you logo in the same place.

HOW do big rig drivers do it?

Wow. That was an interesting post. It certainly added new information and addressed the OP's original question. But seriously, if you do not enjoy reading these posts and this forum, why bother? I do not enjoy the banter I hear on the CB so I simply do not turn it on unless it becomes...

    something to think about.

Think of all the different personalities we have on EO. MXZane is original and enthusiastic to say the least. He is probably the youngest active member on EO and has taken all the ribbing and maintained his composure quite well in my opinion. Sometimes it's refreshing to hear from a new voice.

Tractor-trailer and cargo stolen in Detroit...

I hope you find your truck soon. If the driver is with the truck is it stolen or just missing? The driver could be parked somewhere sick, injured or worse. Is the truck being held hostage by the driver? It seems there is more to this story. Enquiring minds want to know.
