It sure was a slow first week of the month. We went back in service Tuesday, not really expecting to get anything out of Florida. And our expectations held true. We are heading north on Sunday to get back in the freight lanes. Anyone else slow or moving well?

Thanks for the offer but I have barn doors and have to be able to load on docks that have dock locks. That's why I need a tuck a way style.

In a straight truck, if it is ready, they will usually load you quickly. Unloading is rarely a problem because there is usually someone waiting for it. But there are times when you will wait at either or both ends.

I agree. Avoid it unless it pays really, really good. Last time we went to JFK it took 4 hours to get back to New Jersey. I use a smart charger. It turns on and off and chooses the amps that it charges at to maintain the batteries automatically.

According to the news it was 18 which is a new record for us.

It was 19 degrees this morning. Our pick up has glow plugs and an idiot light to tell you they are working. The Mercedes didn't have an idiot light and I have never had to do a cold start before. I guess I should have left the key turned on for a minute before attempting to start it.

Does a 2006 Mercedes MBE 4000 have glow plugs? I had to do a cold start this morning and I was beginning to think it wasn't going to start. Should have plugged in the block heater.

I lived in that area for 47 years. There are some good seafood places at the port and Coconuts on the beach has the best baby back ribs in the area.

The first couple of years we stayed out over holidays. Now we stay home over Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and from Christmas through New Years. Although there is some freight we would rather enjoy these holidays at home rather than sit for 4-5 days in a truck stop.

ES did have a few. I picked up a tractor that had been wrecked and drove it to Memphis so that a new team could pick it up. I believe it was leased to Panther.

If you have a valid DOT Medical card why would they want you to take a new physical with there doctor?:confused:

When we first started we drove one and were quite satisfied too. Since we were a surface expedite truck the influx of red KW's directly affected our run miles. Not to say we didn't get the miles, we just didn't get the long coast to coast runs anymore. We did not leave because of the red KW's...
