About bolt-express read this before you go onboard

It's been a slow month for a lot of folks and is generally slow this time of year. Maybe you need to take more time to figure out the specifics of running with them. A judgement and move after a month costs you, not them.

If you're looking for a value of something you own already, in this market, knock off 26 to 30 % of the declining value per year will give you a pretty sound number.

    Tow/Haul Button

On many GM's (the Allison in the pickups and the 4L85 in vans and cutaways) the T/H mode will also raise line pressure in the transmission so the various clutches will apply with more force and slip less, hence the "firm" shift. HotFr8Recuiter, are you sure you have an Allison in a 1500 and...

Which Garmin Nuvi Model is Good?

I have a Garmin 250w. If I'm in Atlanta and tell it I want to go to Detroit it routes me off I-75 at Dalton and then up GA 71 and TN 60 around Cleveland TN. I have it set for "Fastest" and this route falls into the "Stupid" category. Funny thing is, same trip southbound and it keeps you on I-75.

    Ratios... 3.58 vs. 3.75

There really aren't a lot of advantages to the tall tires. They can live longer since they turn slower but they stink for fuel economy purposes. There's a reason the big companies run low pro 22's! Yea, definitely don't turn the hp up, 475 is lots. It costs a lot of money to be the first guy to...

    Panther is not Military friendly

Of all the BS things companies let folks get away with why would there even be an issue with something as honorable as militarty service. If I was with panther and got passed over for a load that was given to you because they froze your military time I wouldn't care. Why the hell would I have...

    Ratios... 3.58 vs. 3.75

Unless it's got tall 11R24.5 tires on it, go with the lower ratio especially if it's an ACERT engine. Engine should turn 1300-1350 at cruise speed. 475 Cat is still a lot of engine even with a TT.

So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Good-Bye

As a realitive newbie on here I quickly learned that Terry and Rene's posts were well worth the read. Concise and to the point, the information was almost always spot on never an exercise in self promotion or carrier cheerleading, it was simply told like it is. As I started down this road I...

    Cat Valve Lash Setting

If it's an ACERT let CAT do it, trust me. It shouldn't cost more than 300 bucks to get it done. I've done an ACERT engine and it if you don't get it perfect (and I didn't) it runs like a bag of dirt. ACERT engines are a different kettle of fish under the valve covers!!

    New Ford Diesels

Ford (International really) got a few more things right with the 6.4 vs. the 6.0 but the new 6.4 is still not a terribly reliable engine and it is very expensive to fix out of warranty. BTW using low sulfur instead of ultra low sulfur will not hurt the injectors it hurts the DPF and will cause...

    super singles

Likely has a lot to do with how your truck is geared and what transmission you have. If you keep the rpm in the 1100 to 1500 range slower will always get better fuel economy its just an aerodynamic fact. Team C definitely knows how to get the most from every drop of fuel!
