Homeland Security asks Truckers to help find man.

RE: Homeland Security asks Truckers to help find m I agree. I think we all try to find humor in what frustrates us. And yes, a guy taking pictures is something to think seriously about. But when the government asks you to do its job (remember... THEY turned it into a THEM taking care of US...

we cannot even help each other no more

Trucking isn't a brotherhood like it once was. The days of "Convoy" are long dead. Truckers are more prone to use the cb to test their genital size as to help someone in need. That's more or less the way America has gone in general. "If I can help, let me send a check. Otherwise, don't waste my...

Homeland Security asks Truckers to help find man.

RE: Homeland Security asks Truckers to help find m LMAO! I like those answers! If I could give you points, Sharp, you'd have em! :7 If I could give you more, Scott, you'd have em too! :7 Read and learn, Unka Sham. The only limits you don't put on our job is how much you take out of our...

    Best and Worst runs

I would call that a best run! I never saved anyone's job. And my best run, moneywise, ended up starting off a week where I made nada. So that goes to show that if the money is staring you in the face one week, it could be hiding the next. I'll hafta think of what my best run was. :P

    WANTING TO EXPEDITE

If you're making $17/hr @45 hrs/week, my advice is to stay where you're at. Yes, you'll make more than what you do on SOME weeks. But when you factor in food on the road, necessities, etc., you're better off being home every night and eating a home cooked meal.

    Insurance

I agree with Randy about Transport Insurance. I tried getting coverage with them... easy and cheap. It was after I sent my deposit thru that they realized they don't insure any vehicle over 15 years old :P Regardless... they are the cheapest by far that I've called. I'll be getting it thru...

    Layover in SC

Currently, I spend off time during the day finding a load. I try to get naps to keep me fresh. If I'm not moving at night, I mess around on the puter, get a shower, and sleep.

Canada FAST & Crossing the border empty

I doubt it's that, Bryan. Maybe they want mt trucks to use the fast lane to keep the other lanes moving. If there's little or no traffic, then empties would use normal lanes. Make sense?

Somehow its all comming back to me.

Thanx for your encouragement, Ateam. I have no intention of writing an introduction to expediting, as I don't have a writer's patience or knack for finding the right words. I sometimes start a thread using my experiences, good or bad, and see where it leads. I also try to answer questions from...

How is it this week for Teams in D units???

Small, local companies aren't usually the best bet for teams. I almost signed up with one as a solo, and their words to me were "If we get you a run to Louisville, you're basically on your own... no paid dh". NC has a few good companies there, and many more that have a constant flow of freight...

How is it this week for Teams in D units???

Well... I can say from the independant standpoint, it's dead in Detroit! Where are you out of? That may be a good indicator on which company would be a good start. Also, are you going to run solo or team?

kg, I think you're mistaking things. The "drumbeat against positive posts" in this case is really a warning against unreasonable expectations. Regardless of most ppl being able to differentiate between the improbable and common, there are some who come in here with a clear mind and get lured by...

Somehow its all comming back to me.

This is all what this post means. Whether you know it or not, Ateam, showing off your outstanding gains does not impress us. It does, however, impress newbies. And those newbies would rather listen to "How we made a fortune in expediting" than "Here's reality in expediting". Don't you get it...

    Rich M said it correct

But a fact that there are a number of them period, should be a concern. They usually number a few less than to a few more than the number of D-units in the lot. Everyone knows there are more D trucks and D loads than vans and van loads. So if the two are equal in number at the truck stops, it's...
