    Pulling a really small camper

With the number who post on here as well, I thought for sure he would catch the joke.

    Pulling a really small camper

We all know that the big shots in charge of the carriers never come on here and read anything.

Real Expediters Do NOT Use GPS...

That's the problem. You only get the eta to the waypoint and not the final destination. I also found it fairly useless in NYC until you get close to where you're going. I hauled a lot of loads in and out of NYC and I got to know my way around there pretty well and I learned which roads to...

Or just ignore it until it finally recalculates to the route you want to run.

Real Expediters Do NOT Use GPS...

A real expediter uses whatever technology he needs to get the job done efficiently, whether it's paper or electronic. I always kept a Rand McNally handy in the vehicle even after I started using a GPS. A lot of times you can take a good quick glance at the map and see your interstate routing...

    Pulling a really small camper

Sounds like a case of wanting to have your cake and eat it too, wanting to have all the niceties of a big comfortable sleeper without going the straight truck route and having to log. Like others said here, if you do that your most likely going to be over 10k and have to log anyway. If that's...

    Cargo Van Pay

I just looked at that and it looked to me like the vans were getting $1 to $1.05, which might have been with fsc lumped in. It looks kind of old though.

    Cargo Van Pay

Well, $1 to $1.05 is about what it takes to win a bid board load these days for a van. It seems that you're looking at a carrier hauling mostly bid board loads and wanting to make the same profit they were making when the rates were higher. I would also venture a guess that it's a van heavy...

    Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

Ok, I did a little digging online and found a verifiable photo.

    Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

Yep, he's fish food. Although I think we should apologize to the fish.

    non expedite freight?

The way the rates are right now, I'd say it's all LTL.

    Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

Actually, it was Admiral Yamamoto who said that when ordered to attack the U.S. by the emperor. He had studied at an American university before the war and didn't want to fight the U.S.

    Osama Bin Laden is DEAD!

Word is that instead of 72 virgins, he ended up getting 72 angry Virginians. I don't imagine it was cordial.

What are you looking for from a carrier?

This is really a pretty honest question here, not one of my rhetorical things to make a point like I have been known to do in the past. We have some recruiting ads running and I've been hit with some questions I had never really considered in the past, so I'd like to see the kinds of things you...

    Panther is a scam.

I'm not even going to touch most of the concerns raised here, but I'm going to put my two cents in on something I've observed lately. We have a few recruiting ads running and I've been getting some calls on them. It seems that all of the owners who are asking if the company can take care of...

    Factoring

That's pretty much where we are right now. We're still factoring most of our invoices right now, with the goal of eventually not having to, but for the moment our factoring company is a life saver.

    Factoring

I'm with Jeff and Vince. A factoring company provides a lot of services besides just quicker pay. When I started running on my own, I didn't factor much, but when I started taking on other drivers, it made perfect sense because I was still driving and it was easier to have the factoring...

    Tips?

I've been doing some local things around Cincinnati since I came off the road. Recently I delivered some catered food for a wedding reception and got a pretty healthy tip for that. I never got a tip on an expedite load.
