    Realistic Expectations...

In a cargo van? Not likely. Sounds like someone blew him smoke. $1,500 to $1,800 are possible, but not consistant. That's more for a straight truck (and usually higher) than in a van. But the chances he'll be home most of the week in a straight truck is slim, at best. Unless he'll be running for...

    GOOD COMPANY

Good solo company threads have come up before. So have bad solo companies. LOL Good: Express-1, most mid-sized companies. I heard Nations Express is decent, Try Hours, PTL, C&M. Bad: Panther, FXCC, Conway are all team driven. Heard good and bad on Conway, but mostly bad with regard to solos.

    DUTY TIME ON DAYS OFF

I think there's some misunderstanding here. If you're away from home, you can use the truck as you see fit. However, you must log it as driving. If you're starting off at home, and want to take it on a vacation, you can use it as a personal vehicle. However, you have to cover up all DOT numbers...

    owner lease purchase

David... no use talking, as she only wants to hear how great a team her and her hubby are. I can't believe someone is so stuck on themselves! Guess you know everything. In that case, what's the use of coming to a forum? Sorry I ever responded to ya. BTW... after talking down to us, then saying...

    EO Bumper Stickers

If you replaced "expediters" with "laxative", that would work too :7 Sorry... first thing that came to mind :+ What if we can't get to an expo or workshop? Can we get one via mail?

    Overweight Penalties

We were over 1700 on the front going thru VA. Cost us $62. We had no way of knowing after leaving the shipper, as there weren't any scales for more than 100 mi. Since it felt ok, we continued on. I don't like the fact that a shipper can load you with more than the bol states, and YOU get the...

Daughters and Dads things to do

No telling what my daughter will want me to do with her when she's grown up. Right now, it's helping her with the computer, but she's pretty much learned how to get to her sites herself(she just turned 3 on Saturday). She likes doing things that daddy does, like watching football or poker. She...

    owner lease purchase

Don't know what you got from my post that you think is negative. Usually, ppl have to start in the mailroom before they can become CEO. If I had $128k to spend, it wouldn't be on one truck for one team, no matter how good the team. It's not a bash on you, it's an opinion. I've tried going the...

    owner lease purchase

I've been thru what you have, with the lease purchase thing that went sour. Because we're getting ready to litigate, I can't say more than that. I can give advice tho. ALWAYS have it in your contract that 100% of the money you pay goes directly towards paying off the truck! ALWAYS put in the...

    CB Channels

I have an emergency scanner/ weather band in my old international. It's worth putting into the truck we're driving. Tho we have both Sirius and XM, I don't think you can get the accuracy a weather band gives, especially out in the boonies.

I have to admit, and this is no shot at Ateam, that I enjoy reading their posts too. I like controversy from time to time, and Ateam usually brings it. Granted, sometimes I don't feel like reading a long post (and Ateam has some of the longest), but Ateam brings some generally interesting...

    Stir Crazy in KC!!

You're as likely to get stuck in KC for the weekend as you are anywhere else. Don't sweat it. Kansas is usually pretty good for freight, and Missouri is usually very good. Of course, that depends on which company you're with. My guess is you'll be out of there on Tuesday at the latest.

    New Special Forces Division

What about West Virginia??? You'd think with only four surnames in the entire state, those ppl would qualify for the unit :7

I agree. Dave wasn't questioning anything other than a seemingly pompous statement. If Ateam means he's made more off of three loads than most teams, is that FXCC teams or expediting teams in general? If it's FXCC teams, I'd say they aren't so hot. If it's general, I'd say stick to FXCC, you...

Texas and California are the only two conceivable places I could see to sit for a week. Places are usually dead for a week at a time, so moving from somewhere like NC would be a no-brainer after 3 days. We've sat in TX for a week, and it's not fun! After this last time down there, my nephew was...

    International engine problems

I appreciate the replies and the warnings. Nothing is concrete as far as owning the truck. The only interest in it now is making money in it for the next 6 months or so. When that time comes, we'll weigh everything out and go from there. So we have 6 months to watch the truck fall apart or not...

Revisit of the APU 400 lb exemption

What does FXCC have to do with that anyways? Unless they're on the title, it's none of their business, unless it would interfere with freight. I'd say it's a "don't ask, don't tell" matter.

    When Strangers ask!

The first thing that came to mind was a snobbish attitude. However, being at a high security facility, I could see you saying that. On a regular load, I always ask company, and non-company drivers alike (if they are friendly enough) where they're headed. I'm curious that way, and I don't mind...

    International engine problems

I've heard that on the 2004 model Internationals, that the engines fail rather early. Apparently, half of the exhaust gets sent back into the engine as an emmisions thing. That gums up the engine and causes it to fail. Has anyone heard about this and possibly give me more info? Thanx :)
