    Slow???????????????????????

What area's are you running? Are you hanging out in Detroit? I've talked to several contractors who said Chicago is GOLD. Might want to give it a try? Good luck and keep us posted.

    C unit with a 16 foot box

I've always spec'd a "little bit" bigger than needed and not smaller. You know your market and your company, what do they think? Being a medium duty may not be what they want. Better check first?

    Fuel surcharge

That is great to hear. When you crunch the numbers that is pretty much in line with what we are hearing of other company's. Good for FDCC and great news for contractors. The percentage apply's to all contractors.

    Gym's

When I started driving team at Roberts Express my owner had a membership to Bally's and took his showers there and laso get a little work out. You are allowed a quest also, so that was pretty cool.

How well do you sleep going down the road.

Well short of going out and buying another truck, why don't you invest in the best mattress you can buy. My wife and I have had a sleep comfort mattress like you buy at the mall and have had no troble getting the much needed rest a team needs. It's a little pricey, but well worth the investment...

    Power service additives

Haven't heard anyone say better mileage. Kept injectors clean, fuel moving. Years ago we w ould gell up and be dead on side of road. I would use fuel additives for peace of mind.

Percentage of miles driven at night.

Thanks FDCC for the honest question and for being concerned enough for asking this forum help in answering the driver honestly. This is something that we felt made FDCC stand above the rest of the companies in the past. I started driving for Roberts as a team in a "E" unit and in that situation...

    Fuel Additives for Winter

I've always had great luck with Power Service additives. With the generator running your keeping fuel moving but not really warm enough to avoid gelling. A little additive goes a long way. Buy it by the case and save or better yet, Walmart's are carrying this product now, so stock upand be ready...

    Generator

I would check with the sleeper suppliers. Bentz, ICT, ARI, etc.. You will always want to be able to get service. Maybe an RV style from Coleman. Service is available at all RV Dealers. The other thing to think about is if the unit will stand alone or be tied into your truck cooling. I've had...

Could you be a little bit more specific? What do you want to know? What type of equipment are you running or interested in?

    Safety

Wow, thats a loaded question! I had a friend shot at the flying J in W. Memphis Ar. a few years back. These were his thoughts on truckstop safety. 1. Only park in lighted area's. 2. If you feel you are being followed get out in the open ASAP! He was shot while walking between trucks out in the...

    Generator and air conditioning feedback

I've had all my generator sets installed by Bentz Transport out of Ft. Wayne In. 1-800-664-BUNK. I had over 20,000 hours on last one before the truck was destroyed. Prior to that one my 2000 Freightliner had over 25,000 hours when it was just recently sold. Remember to follow oil change...

    General Truck bodies

You no the "Big Boys" don't always deliver what you need, but what they have. I have found more flexibilty with smaller companys. You can tell who will be here tomorrow, just look in there parking lot and see what the employees are driving. How does there warranty look compared to others, if...

    Freightliner highway robbery!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune! It has been my experience, to try and use "my own mechanic". I know that is not always possible. I have called my mechanic and run the problem past him to get his input. Kinda like having a Doctor on call! It sounds like you know your truck pretty well and your...

    new career

Oh boy, never let your license expire! My recommendation would be to get your "B" license with haz-mat as that would be the cheapest way to get started again. You can use a rental truck to take your test. FYI most people fail the Pre-Trip Inspection phase of the test, so make sure you know how...

    E-Track installation question

You should probably check with the manufacturer of the body and get there recommendations. You may have to install a furring strip first, and then anchor to that strip, this will distribute the pulling force over a broader space instead of pulling directly on the side wall, which would probably...
