    QUALIFIED AND LEASE

If you are going for a tractor/trailer lease you may have problems without recent experience. On the other hand if you are looking into a straight truck contract, as long as your license is clean this should not give you any grief. Do you have other issues, such as DUI or reckless operations...

    Expediting 101

Great job summing it up! The one thing that is usually the downfall of a sucessful O/O is that "BIG" check shows up and momma figures this is the way it will be every week. And of course it's not! Managing money is the biggest and easiest downfall new Owner/Operator makes. They go out and buy...

Landstar is a wonderful company. However you must be proactive in locating your freight. Is this what you want? Is there someone at home that can be searching for your next load? The opportunities are there...you must be aggresive. Good luck and keep us posted how you are doing.

    O/O revenue and drivers pay

When business is good everyone is a winner. Have a friend that is driving team for a couple. This month the owner will make close to 7000.00 and the drivers will make 12000.00 minus fuel. Not a bad return for either one! Unfortunately the truck set for a month or two with no income. We all know...

$1,000,000 question. What Company is best suited f

RE: $1,000,000 question. What Company is best suit Your safety record speaks for it self and you should be commended! As far as where you would "fit" best. Without a liftgate and tag axle FDCC would not be for you. Landstar uses agents and if you get in with the "Right" one you will make big...

    c 10 cat

Check with seller on warranty, they offered 500,000 mile coverage at a cost. This would make a great expeditor! Comfort, power, what more could you ask for? Good luck. The 10 speed auto-shift is a really nice package. It is a real truck tranny, unlike that mickey mouse 6 speed in the FL_ series.

    cargo vans

Seeings how you already have the tractors, why not convert them to "D" units. That's the money maker. Good luck, and please keep us posted how you are doing.

    Freightliner brakes

This is a common complaint to all trucks. Most mechanics will tell you that the noise is the spring hangers and spring racking or shifting. Sometimes it makes a popping sound. If you run heavy front end weights it makes the problem even worse. Check your spring eyes for grease problems and...

    Getting a fresh start

Hi OTR, sorry about your downward journey in "big" trucking. I would recommend taking it slow and easy. There are many good fleet owners who are looking for dependable drivers. Why not start there? Get a feel for the industry and make good money while you learn our side of trucking. Look into...

Volvo Manual to Auto Change Info needed

You have a great clutch setup now..Volvos work really well and require very little maintenance. The only service item you have is to make sure the clutch throwout bearing gets greased. It is a little unusual and you will need to caring a picture as most truckstops don't have a clue how to add...

    ??? Automating Existing Landing Gear???

Hi group. My recommendation would be to steer clear of using an electric drill to operate the landing gear outside...reason being, liability. Standing in a pool of water and operating an electric drill sounds a little like using a Tazer on yourself. Seriously, there are air operated devices out...
