    Cargo Van Advice Needed

I got with a fleet owner, been driving 4 months, I like the business to this point, and am ready to take the plunge and buy my own van. While I like the more head room in my fleet owners Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter, the Sprinters in his fleet has been constantly going down, maintenance seems really...

Is Expediting a Business or a Lifestyle?

Your replies are appreciated. Well obviously it's both. The point of the question was which is the better asset? The knowledge or the ability to live out on the road. Seems to me, all the knowledge in the world can't make you successful if 2 weeks on the road and you need a month off to rest...

Is Expediting a Business or a Lifestyle?

In roofing, you must have equipment and knowledge, and these things come through experience, time, and common sense. Still, as a former roofer, I know what the #1 requirement is to be a roofer. You can not be afraid of heights. Likewise, I've been investigating OTR Expediting, and from what I...

Cargo Van To Decal or not to Decal...

Lol, respect Seems I hit a sore spot with the word "lifestyle", so let me rephrase. When I see people with custom vans made for comfort wearing the most comfortable shoes imaginable, no stains on their shirts or jeans unless they are a sloppy eater, complaining about having to walk into a...

solo straight how do you make it work

The owner I'm driving for is willing to get a b class vehicle, but only if a team drives it, and to that I say, no thanks, If I ever met an owner that would let me solo drive, I would give it a shot.

    Sprinter APU ideas?

I haven't even stepped into the Sprinter I will be driving and the owner is talking about keeping the engine off as much as possible. Well on these perfect 70 degree days this is not an issue, but that's not the case always. Any ideas on how to heat and/or cool the van without idling the...

solo straight how do you make it work

I know the advantages of a Sprinter over a Straight Truck, no CDL required, easier to drive, small enough to drive anywhere, no stops at weight stations. What are the advantages of the Straight Truck over the Van?

    class B cdl [ training ]

I got my class B license through a Craigslist ad. A local driver charged me $450 to walk me through everything I needed to know to pass the inspection, put me through the driving drills, and literally took me through the route that I would be tested on. Then let me use the truck for the test...

    Sprinter Expediting Advice

Hello, and thank you for reading. After some research I have decided to work doing otr expediting in a Sprinter. I am set up to start up within 2 weeks. If it works out as I hope, I plan, after getting some experience for I presume a year or two, to buy my own Sprinter Van, and owner operate...

    First month in the books.

The company I am dropping driving sprinter for can't seem to book 2,000 miles a week. One week a co-worker only got 700 loaded miles, that was a full week, from Friday to Friday. A company that can get you 3,000 miles a week, consistently, is awesome! I swear it's get a load, wait a day...

Possibly Starting My New Expediting Journey Next Week...

I am a noob so take what I am posting with a grain of salt. It seems with Vans you miss a lot of loads that a Straight Truck can carry, plus you are both competing for the loads you can carry. So bigger can be better, earning power wise.

Noob Questions on Straight Trucks and Class A

Hello All Well, to get to the nitty gritty of my question, who makes more, a solo A class driver or a member of a team B class in a straight truck for a good, quality company? Idk if I should pursue getting with someone else on a Straight Truck, or should I bite the bullet, get with a company...
