    Super 10

I've driven a super-10, and I'd say it's an easy and forgiving tranny, if you realize quickly where the sweet spot is. Once you experiment with it, you'll have no probs. That was also the first truck I drove with no clutch. Glad I did it, cause the one I'm in now shifts better without. It's all...

    Accepting every load...

I've heard several ppl (and three orientations) say to accept every load, because you never know what you'd miss on the other side. I could say the opposite is also true... you don't know what load would come up next unless you turn the first one down. Or worse yet, you'll find out and be...

    permit?

Any interstate vehicle has to have an MPSC sticker if they want to do Michigan intrastate loads. That is, both the shipper AND consignee is in Michigan. If you get caught without it, it's a $75 fine.

    Parkway Expressway Thruway

Terry... that reminds me of Gallagher. You drive on a parkway and park in a driveway. Cargo goes by ship, and a shipment goes by truck. You have a pair of pants but only one bra! If pro is the opposite of con, what's the opposite of progress???

    Parkway Expressway Thruway

You can drive on some parkways. It depends on where. I know NY and most of New England, it's a no-no, as well as Chicago. I've been on parkways in KY and TN that I remember.

    Getting Paid!

In most states a verbal agreement is the same is a written one. Having said that, I have a verbal agreement with the guy I'm running for. Reason is simple... he lives nearby. He's paid everything owed so far, and has kept the truck repaired. And honestly, he's been awful patient with me because...

Could it be they're doing this on purpose so more ppl get ezpass?

    Auxiliary Fuel Tank

Ark... I don't think Broom was meaning to be insulting, if that's the way you see it. It's a common thing for ppl to put every gadget known to man in or on a truck, thereby resulting in a 6,000 max payload. Broom brought up the motorcycle because of someone he knows had to turn down at least two...

    Canada New Laws In Canada

Everyone else? Or just other trucks? It's gonna be fun watching trucks pass each other when they all go 65. Just watch the calls from citizens saying the 401 is backed up a mile cause Bison is drag racing CanAm. I venture it won't last long. Til then, no Canada for me. Makes me wonder what...

A/C metal contamination aka black death

Thanx for the info, Geo. Only reason I took it where I did was cause the owner wanted it fixed there. He saved a few bux, but it took nearly a week. Makes ya wonder. :P

A/C metal contamination aka black death

Yep... grin and bear it! Regardless if it's impossible to sleep, rediculous to drive, and unbearable to sit. Freight comes above all else, till you pass out from heat exhaustion. Then, ya ain't gotta worry bout it anymore. Hopefully, ya don't take out a van full of kids when ya go! But till...

    Working for Fleet

There are a ton of companies around the Detroit area that are more solo oriented than Panther. My guess is the truck would average around $2000/week. Express-1 is a good company to start with. However, they don't like to forward money. I'm not sure about others in the area, as far as that goes...

A/C metal contamination aka black death

Then you're lucky, Greg! Time for an update. It works. They did one complete flush of the system, which kinda scares me. The guys in Indy told me it would maybe take three or more times before all the metal is out. At least I made a copy of the reciept to keep in my files in case this happens...

    We are too useful!!!!

Mrgoodtude... which aircard do you have? Is it EVDO? Just replaced mine the other day (my nephew kicked the antenna climbing into the passenger's seat... clutz! :P ) It's a Merlin S620, and it connects about twice as fast as the 570, and has an internal antenna. About finding directions...

    Power Service products

It's hard for me to tell what, if any, benefit I get from additives, because I idle the truck a lot. I do notice a smoother sound from the engine since I first got in the truck tho. And maybe a slight increase in pickup.

    Do you need more freight?

advice... if you want to find loads, get a puter and internet. Or, you can get some contacts and make your rounds with them when you get in a bind.

    Do you need more freight?

It depends on whether your company lets you find outside freight or not. Some good places are getloaded.com, expediteloads.com, and gps411.com. The last costs a pretty penny, but can pay for itself just by getting you out of a couple jams. I also get some emails from expedite companies. Most of...

Re I need help and How to leave a bad owner

South? You mean south of Edmonton? The day it went out, it was 91 in Indy. I can run in that heat, but sleeping is another story. Part of this situation comes from the fact that the dealer in Indy said it would take them one day to fix the problem, but it took the dealer in Dearborn three days...
