    Honeywell generator inverter

I bought one when they were on sale at Home Depot for $300. It is a good generator, but not as small, or light, or as quiet as a 2000w honda. But for the money, it cannot be beat.

    2010 Sprinter search begins

Be careful with the dually. I don't know for sure on 2010s, but on earlier models there was not enough room for a skid to pass between the wheel wells, making it worthless for expediting, unless you built up the floor above the wells. So, stick with a 2500.

    Looking for some training

Several hours of downtime between loads? Sometimes those several hours turn in several days. Or ask tjp, hours into days, and days into weeks between loads. :)

Report on New Qualcomm for Vanners!

Dale, Did they have to connect it to some other engine signals, or only to the same 3 wires (ground, always on power, and key on power) the old one used? Thanks

    Preventable Or Not

Steve, sorry that this happened to you. I hope you find a company worthy of your service. You are one of the best drivers out there that I know. Good luck, my friend.

At home, after 2 loads this week. I wrote a few words about the Haiti trip here: http://www.expeditersonline.com/forum/layover-lounge/40802-haiti-trip.html Pictures need to be resized, so I will add them later.

    Haiti trip

As many of you know, I went for 2 weeks to Haiti on a relief mission. Here you can read a few words about it. As soon as the earthquake hit a friend of mine came up with the idea to go there and help with anything we can. We got in contact with our Haitian friends over here and found out what...

Chile Earthquake May Have Shortened Days on Earth

I tend to believe that they were high on something when they said this: "One Earth day is about 24 hours long. Over the course of a year, the length of a day normally changes gradually by one millisecond. It increases in the winter, when the Earth rotates more slowly, and decreases in the...

    Preventable Or Not

Ok, not a good example. But anyway, makes no sense to me that you would be charged with a preventable when there is nothing you could do to prevent it, short of not being there when the deer decided to cross the road. What is really bad though, is that the person that this happened to was not...

    Preventable Or Not

No way it can be called preventable in my mind, but powers that be considers it as such. What is next? Someone hits you from behind and pushes you into the car in the front, and then you are charged with a preventable because you hit the car in the front...

    any RC hobbyists?

I fly model airplanes and helicopters. Don't have too much time to play with my toys anymore. Never took them with me on the road. Not enough room for everything in my van. My latest project you can see in my avatar. It has a real jet engine. Never flew it though. To fly a jet you need to find...

I am in the airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic coming back from the relief mission to Haiti. It won't be until Monday afternoon that I get to take a gooood shower and eat sitting down at a table. Some of the pleasures of life :) Then, back in service.

New Technology and FedEx Custom Critical

Thanks, I was just wondering if it needs another bracket and other holes drilled in my van that PJ don't seal right and then I need to go back and fix myself. I am not looking forward to this. Hopefully I get to have mine installed somewhere else other than PJ. I despise that place.

I am home, out of service for 3 weeks. On Wednesday I will go to Haiti with a team of 7 people to take some tents there and some manual labor rebuilding some things. It will be an experience that I will remember for a loooong long time. Hope we will return home safely.

    Finally the NEW 2010 Sprinter...

Too bad you got suckered. You should have made an informed decision. I did, and I am happy to say that I will never go back to a regular van. I might try other 'big' vans like Ford Transit (if it ever gets here) or Fiat Whatever if they prove to be reliable here.
