Right. If you go to Canada. What I was saying is FedEx does not require the speed limiter. She seemed to imply it was required...

The Thread You Can Use When You Need To

How did I miss this thread...for 3yrs? This is awesome! I'm gonna talk about bunnies! Hoppity, hoppity, plop. (that's me getting wound up and then getting confused and sitting down on my fuzzy bunny butt, a regular occurance) /end bounce

    Speeding ticket

What doesn't count? (confused) Setting your truck for a max of 65 is your choice, btw. Fed doesn't require it.

The Big Under Body Tool Boxes

Problems we've run into with bikes: Fitting into a toolbox, most of them leak-really nasty winter slush in our brand new boxes this winter. Then, the aluminum boxes leave that "dust" on everything, hard to get off clothes. You can try lining them with something like the clear plastic they use...

Is there such a thing as too much equipment?

YES, you can have too much! Currently, we are carrying: 14 e-track load bars, 14 twelve-foot straps, 2 twenty-foot straps, 4 large and 4 medium corner protectors, 8 logistic sleeves, 8 motorcycle tie-downs w/ e-track ring thingies, pallet jack, dolly, wood furniature dollies, 24 pads, rubber...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

The most intriguing part of this whole ordeal is that the DOT did a special sting after the second crash and inspected 14 buses in Manhattan. ALL were in violation. I think eight had to be towed, the rest had to have new drivers finish the runs. 14 for 14 is not a good sign.

    March Locations

Home, waiting for floor in box to dry so we can put down epoxy. Four days for it to dry, then build new shelves for equipment and off to MATS!

    Higher Fuel/Slower Freight

I am soooo embarrassed to admit this, but yes, we do. For two people, not cooking. I have a feeling a lot of others may be spending similar amounts, at least the fat ones like us ;)

What Type of Health Insurance do you have/Recommend??

Your belief is that unless they served, they should not be getting the government plan, correct? If you work for the government, what would they call the government worker's health care plan? My understanding is you think it should be a less comprehensive plan than for those in the military...

    Exploiting a Tragedy

I'm wondering why people were so fast sending money to Haiti, but Japan has gotten barely anything. Is it because Japan is a "rich" country and Haiti was "poor? Is it the number of Haitians in this country? Does Pearl Harbor still gave anything to do with it? I'm not trying to rile feathers...

    Which APU do you have?

Our tri pac was leaking and we lost 8 gallons of coolant going cross country. Found the shut off valve, though. We now have an Onan, a Magnum inverter, rooftop ac, and espar heater. Our bunk heat broke, but the espar kept us warm all winter. The rooftop ac is the only way to go IMO, will freeze...

Setting up a shipment with a carrier.

Thanks for clarifying. I was once given the option to not take a load that was originally a well paying <75, that turned into a not as attractive 400 mile run. I was at FedEx Freight, ready to load when it changed. We were ticked, but let fedex know we were unhappy on the phone, and took it...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

http://nyti.ms/fmX4X7 They are now saying the truck driver actually contacted investigators after the crash and that the driver and trucking co are being "very cooperative". They have the ECM and video from the bus and the gps(qc?) from the truck.

Setting up a shipment with a carrier.

Also a very important point is that (with Fed) you CAN refuse the load if it changes, but if you left the freight at the dock, expect to find a new carrier. Fed thrives on professionalism, appearance, and maintaining superior customer service (aka: the purple promise). It's why they often cost...

    Show of Hands Please

I tink he's referring to "advocate" as in: driver advocate, carrier advocate, union advocate. That's my guess.
