Thank you, Bruno, for the clearest, most detailed example of the how and why of...that whole other thread. :)

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

I'm willing to bet that's why so many people are so...irritated, IMO. The incessant and excessive use of "LOL" and "HAHAHAHA" are rude, condecending, and plain dificult to read. It makes the poster come off as an uneducated, blathering, "crazy cat lady" type. I'm NOT SAYING YOU ARE ANY OF THESE...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Please correct me if I'm wrong (I know Phil should know this), my understanding of the term "confirmed" is that it applies to the delivery time. Staying in service does not mean you have to take a load, but fed uses that information to determine their capacity to serve the customer. This is...

Is that $300/week for both or is that each? Also, is that gross beforecor after (personal) taxes? When I started I took what I grossed and put 80% in my checking account and 20% in savings for the tax man.

    EO app quirks

I'm also expereincing this, although it's weird: I can see the "teaser"... ...but not the post. I also checked under the poster's profile, same thing. I also saw it on one or two other profiles so it might not be cheri's fault ;) j/k

I also find it unlikely you'll see that many miles regularily. Expediting isn't anything like regular trucking in that respect. Even a straight truck or TT team may not do 3k mi/week every week. This is all very dependant on a lot of factors, including and not limited to: carrier/brokers, types...

    Show of Hands Please

You know we will! As for grilling, anyone interested in fish? I don't have much experience cooking it, and I really love it and trying to eat better. Anything I need to bring? We'll be coming from home, so give me a list!

Asking for load/rate over qc before taking

After always hearing about people "being screwed" and people not getting paid, this thread really warms my heart. Seriously. And it didn't have to involve FECC "cheerleaders" =P

new guy heading out on wednesday

Btw, you may want to read the thread titled: "FedEx Custom Critical???? Are they what they say they are" or something. (If you haven't already) Its an excellent example of some of the best advice I got when I started: talk less, listen more. Ask questions, and if it's from someone successful...

You've asked good questions, you've gotten good answers, you should be fine. :)

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

You were supposed to give FedEx EIGHT FEET of available space at all times. You were in breach of contract. The only way this even slightly-SLIGHTLY- has something to do with you is your persistence that FedEx was demanding you take the load YOU deemed unsafe due to your faulty understanding of...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

I read about this crash on USA Today and NYTimes, there seems to be conflicting info so far of whether the bus was hit from behind, side-swiped, or just overeacted to being near the truck. They have not found the truck yet. Also noted was the bus company had recently been flagged for fatigued...

Question for carriers & fleet owners

I have heard of larger TL/non-expedite carriers doing something like this with 3 people: Al & Bob team for a week, Al goes home, Bob and Carl team for a week, Bob goes home, Carl and Al team, Carl goes home, Al and Bob again...etc. So everyone stays out two weeks with one off. But I guess this...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Yep. They fixed their mistake, too. Lease should have been pulled a while ago. Know why this thread is so awesome? Because it serves as a very, very long wake up call to anyone in this business who thinks they know everything and need a dozen well versed and experienced expeditors (and some not...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Sorry, snookie, uh, pookie, no one was 'jabbin' at you. You failed to mention DAYS AGO that you don't have the space to run per FedEx's specifications. After everyone asked. Repeatedly. We asked and asked. Try answering questions as straightforward as the questions are asked, you might not...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Please elaborate. I am confused by the circumstances under which the Fed wouldn't pull a lease for failing to haul a load, that by all accounts, was a B team load, sent to a B team unit (with no change in hazmat, labor, etc.). You may have the right not to haul it, but I thought that fell in...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

No need to make personal attacks on people, darlin'. From your post, looks like the customer requested a B unit. They had a B load, and you're a B unit, correct? Yup, me too. Also means Fed can pull your lease if you fail to show up willing and able to take a load appropriately sized for...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

Am I misunderstanding the team van setup? Is this a common thing- that you have absolutely no space to sleep with a B load on? If this is the case for everyone, is there some special notice to the customer?

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

This has already been said, but actually FedEx really doesn't have as much control over this as you think. Neither do you. If you are listed as able to carry 2 skids, the unit is supposed to be able to carry two skids. Even though the load said one, your size vehicle was requested, was it not...
