    Scanners

I have a Canon Copier/Scanner/Printer at home and use it to send my paperwork. I downloaded the Tripak In Cab app to my laptop. Even if you get a msg "this scanner isn't compatable, just ignore that msg. Scan the Tripak cover sheet, scan your ppwk, and send. That it. It works. The only...

    VRU load opp results ?

When B units used to be able to negotiate load pay it was common that a truck would except the load at the offered rate and I would not get the load. They will always give a load to a lower cost unit if competing

The Center For The Lowest Paying Load Opportunities

Had another one. Total miles 540, pay 305.42, DHPU was 416

The Center For The Lowest Paying Load Opportunities

Have a load opportunity on the ridiculous side of the track? Let's share them for some comic relief. I just had one total miles 427, loaded miles 273. Pick up was in NYC metro area. With the tolls its even worse. The pay was $272

    Tval- br units, help please?

I only talked to 1 BR unit based in Miami. He said half the freight he gets is non reefer. I would ask a recruiter if they can produce real numbers for the BR's on the west coast. When Fedex decides to put on units they figure more what their customers need, and not how profitable you will be...

    DHPL Pay taken away

That rule was always in effect at least for B units. I very rarely even get a layover plan which saves Fedex money every time I deliver.

Load Acceptance Rates Included in Ranking

The profit is less than when I started in 1985. Fedex will lose in the end because only a small pct of people even can put up with this type of life being on the road all the time. They won't be able to cover their loads. I can already see "load cancelled" when I track them after I refuse them...

Load Acceptance Rates Included in Ranking

As an owner I can't try and please the dispatcher. Fedex made a conscious decision to make more profit and not pay a descent pay for loads with enormous DHPU. Its makes no sense to wear out my unit for half of my total miles DHing to the PU. I'm more than happy to run low paying loads toward...

    FedEx 1099 question...

If you call contractor settlements they will give you the dates they base their total on, then double ck with your calculator. They can look it up and tell you very quickly. Takes all the guessing out,

    Fed adding B units...

Get a new Ford E350 extended 1 ton van with the 5.4L gasoline motor. They last 500-600K miles with no major problems. These engines love hwy miles, and that's why they last for our business. Not just me talking, ask any Ford owner. Will Nissan's last that long? I doubt it...

    Fed adding B units...

You don't need a sleeper. I've been using a folding cot for years. Its long enough to fit across in the front part of the cargo area. When I'm not loaded I use it lengthwise. I drive a Ford Econoline van.I don't have a front cargo barrier so even if I have so much freight I can't use the cot I...

    Clink-Qualcomm removal

I'm upgrading and removing the equipment on the roof of my B unit. The white rectangular unit in front of the big round unit. Is the white the rectangular part just glued right to the roof where I can just pry it off?

Load Acceptance Rates Included in Ranking

I just got the word today from a dispatcher that they won't negotiate any load rate with a Cargo Van. Guess my 37% load acceptence will take a hit. We now are the expendables. I have a feeling the head huncho in Memphis is demanding more profit from his crown jewel in Green.

    Favoritism or not???

I think their dispatch system is set up to choose the closest unit to the pu so they pay less DHPU fuel costs. One time I was checked into Nashville and was #1 in dwell time. A load opp came over that picked up the next day, that was a great load. Another unit that checked in after me was parked...

    New BCS Scanners

I have a scanner at home already. If they would just allow ppwk to be emailed I could just scan my ppwk and email it instead of getting the clink involved. And why by a scanner when their goal is to go paperless eventually. Depending when they paperless, I might not save the fuel cost of...

After Market Catalytic Converters Gasoline Engines

Has anyone installed a after market catalytic converter on a gasoline engine? i'm about to, and the price difference between original equipment and after market is significant. If you have, has it been reliable? How many miles has it lasted so far/ I have a 2008 Ford E350, 5.4L engine and...

    Can anyone top this?

Why not just go to Dallas?- aren't there more C&D loads out of there?- or is DAL a white glove center for those units? maybe the co. didn't want to pay you the DH for DAL you might have be offered-who knows.

Income Taxes- standard milage rate deduction

I've been using the standard milage rate for years, but have never gotten audited. I did talk to one owner years ago who was audited and said he deducted every mile from Jan1-Dec31 as long as he wasn't out of service. If he was available for dispatch even if he was doing errands in town he...
