    good or bad ?

TSA: It would be great if the TSA used the same method to screen airplane passengers as Israel, but that woulkd be quicker, and more effficiant, and the Federal gov't doesn't like that sort of stuff. I know TSA went to Israel to look at how they screen passengers, but are still using the same...

OOPS our dispatch system had a problem last night

Thursday April 9, 2015 1500. I just called my CC to ask her where I came up on the points for 2 B loads that were dispatched out of CIN today. I'm sitting with a less than 75. 1<75 B ahead of me, still. She checked and she, oh, your not show you have any dwell time. I said well this morning at...

    Look at your settlement sheet!

By law, CC must show you (the contractor)what they are charging to the customer, and if its not on out settlement sheet, you can call Contractor Relations and have them send you the charges. CC must give you that info. Roberts Express used to send us a copy of the actual invoice that the...

What is going on at the office

If the pu wasn't too far, I would have gone to the pu, then notify CC and then get a dry run pay and a less than 75. Its up to the dispatchers to find the right size truck. They have all your dimensions and wt capacity.

    flatter the flat rate

Sounds like that load was for a big regular fedex cc customer with a negotiated rate. They aren't out of the expedited business and never will be. I do a 26 mi hazmat load for 1 pkg at 3 lbs. The customer told me CC charges $700 for that load. It pays a B unit $210. That run goes once a month or...

    FedEx Custom Critical

I've run a cargo van with them for decades, and still do. Its true the flat rate now is .80 per mile, plus 100% of the fuel surcharge, and extra charges like detention, inside delivery. They pay $50 extra for hazmat loads and to pick up and deliver in the NY metro area. I've laid over in...

Question about getting my own Authority

Since you have your own authority, what are some of the paid subscription laodboards that are good? I would get my own authority, if I could get on some good load boards (not free) where I could find loads that would fit in my cargo van. So to you and anyone reading the post I started, WHAT ARE...

Question about getting my own Authority

I've logged on to many load boards but very rarely do they have any loads for a 1 ton cargo van. The only one that does is U-Ship. Those loads are bid way down, and never found it worth my while to even bid on them. Do you know of any loadboards that have cargo van loads? They don't even have to...

Question about getting my own Authority

You didn't mentioned getting my authority. How can start looking for loads without an MC#. You want to be specific about where you find loads? Are you finding loads on load boards? If yes, without authority? Got some names of load boards I don't need my authority?

Question about getting my own Authority

I'm considering getting my own authority with the 1 ton van I own. I'm already leased to an expediter, but I would like access to expedited load boards to look for my own loads to bid on. If someone here is doing this already, or anyone with experience of having their own authority please advise...

Expediter in desparate need of help

I'd go see a lawyer for damages. Did you have a signed agreement with him, that he could fire you on the spot? If you ever drive for another owner, you should have an agreement you both sign to cover this siuation. Also, you need a credit card that also includes free, emergency transportation to...

55% increase in costs, thanks Obamacare

I love Obama care! I qualified for medicaid, thanks for all my deductions in the trucking industry. Now instead of paying before Obamacare $800/mo. I pay zero, no co-pay, free dental-no co-pay. If you own 1 truck, deduct by the mile instead of actual, and it must start the first year you put the...

    Look at your settlement sheet!

Ever wonder how CC is making out with the new flat rates they are now paying us? My last 2 settlements were as follows: over 300% and 99% (CC's share) of what they paid me. Seems much better for them than the 62% or 58% for us of the billed revenue to the customer.

Custom Critical Has 2 Dispatch Departments

On a different topic I noticed on my settlement sheet that What Fedex CC charged the customer was over 3 times what they paid me. The next settelement was just less then 100% of what they paid me. Seems like these new pay rates for the owners are working great for CC

Custom Critical Has 2 Dispatch Departments

I recently talked to a driver who worked for a small carrier that was leased to Custom Critical. This small carrier and this driver were able to bid on load boards. The driver told me he could see Custom Critical loads on these boards and even when he was close by to the pick up, never got a...

    Tracking any Custom Critical Run

That's weird. How many miles was the load? I wonder if he saw the msg on the QC and tried to see how many paid miles he could run before they stopped him to set up another transfer. Another thing you can do in this tracking is increase the last run number digit by one number and keep adding...

    Tracking any Custom Critical Run

If you ever want to track ANY Custom Critical run just go to Fedex.com and enter the run number for Fedex Freight. The Custom Critical tab for tracking is locked and you need a user name and password. Fedex Freight, you don't. Just enter the run number without the last number (1, 2 or 3) The...

    weekend service

I'm glad Fedex finally added more money to weekend loads. Why give away that premium service, when other carriers are closed. The previous comments are right, not many loads move on the weekend to begin with.

    Vehicles with 120v needed

Was just curious what type of freight is being hauled, and the size units that are getting this freight. The info I got from Fedex, it seems they are looking for any size unit. I'm a B unit.
