New to expediting (old to 18 wheeling)

Cool. That would be a good amount of space. But you said when empty. How much space when loaded?

New to expediting (old to 18 wheeling)

Well, I only do the walk in when I'm home, and that not very often. When I'm on the road, I hardly ever eat at those places.

It's Sad What Happened at FedEx CC

Different people like different ways of being recognized. I could care less about my name and or pic being on a wall, long as I am treated as a adult, get a occasional 'thank you'. Greg, it's like you having "1st member of 10,000 post club" in your signature. You want recognition of that fact...

It's Sad What Happened at FedEx CC

Maybe because in a General forum, subjects don't have to be important? They can be comments, observations, whatever?

New to expediting (old to 18 wheeling)

Nah, I just walk up to the order board, and make hot rod sounds, then walk around to pay and get my order :D Seriously, though, I never use a drive up, when I'm in a car. Always park and walk in. Less chance of order mix up, and get a bit of exercise.

It's Sad What Happened at FedEx CC

have to agree with Jefferson, I'm sure they don't want to answer questions about people who are no longer there. But I'm sure not all long time people have left, so it's sad that FedEx doesn't continue to recognize them. But then again, this is the 1st company that I can recall that doesn't...

Does every freightliner m2 106 have a/c issues??

Have to agree with Retidepxe. Freightshakers are so much more numerous, there are bound to be more issues and complaints. Asked owner about the M2 I'm driving. Has only had one AC issue since he owned (a'04 he bought in '08), and that was this past spring. When sleeper was installed, and...

Little boy buying a doll for his sister

As Bouncer pointed out, this story has been around for years. For those of you not born before the 'electronic age', things like this story would show up in your mail box. Usually asking you to add your name to the list of people included with the letter, then send it on, with one copy going...

newbie starting my trucking career in expediting at panther

Oh Oh, drivin for Dad? Could be trouble. If your late with a load, he may take away your car keys for a week, or make you go to your room without supper :D Seriously, welcome. All the advice above is good. The 1st few times you go down some steep mountains, use a bit of extra caution. You can...

New to expediting (old to 18 wheeling)

After years in diff T/T with space to move around in, I, myself, prefer the living space a ST gives me. Especially in expediting, with the occasional longer down time between loads. If your used to decent sleeper space in a company truck, the change to a lot less space will be as big a...

    straight talk

Have to disagree. They piggy back on all the various networks. I had pre pay for years, 1st Trac Phone, then Net 10, then Straight Talk. I let my daughter talk me into getting a phone on her account, with Verizon. Was a mistake. I had way better coverage with ST. My basis for comparison is W...

    Health insurance recommendation??

My brother is a independent business owner, does interior remodeling stuff. He joined a small business association, which then allowed him to get group health insurance, like being with a company. He just pays the whole premium, but still cheaper than a individual plan. That could be a option.

    Box Truck Etrack

Ok. I thought the 2 e-tracks at floor level, with metal plate between them, was all of one piece. I'll just do the same for the tracks, with wood between. Thanks.

    Box Truck Etrack

Linda and Bob, where did you buy that double e-track you have mounted at floor level? Have been searching, but haven't found it yet. Thanks.

    Recorded phone calls

yep. That's why I always would grumble about being on hold, especially on a departure call for a load they want to go ASAP. Or grumble about having to listen to recorded message geared to customers, not contractors. Big Bro watches :)

    No Mo Points...Pilot

Yep. When I was driving a 18 wheeler, if I saw a smaller truck (ie: small capacity tanks), I always pulled in behind them. Yeah, my on duty clock was running, but that might save a few minutes.
