    New to Load 1

Wow, thanks for that, Steve. At least can check if it's the switch. Yes, APU works fine, and I can have plenty of AC :) Did check the fuses, was 1st thing I looked at, all are good.

    New to Load 1

Steve, thanks for that. Have already met Beki (and her 2 new pups), they fixed the couple issues I had with truck after I got up here. But they were a no go regarding the heat. They found what they think was a bad switch, but could not locate a replacement. I'm not sure it's the switch...

    New to Load 1

Thanks for the heads up about Brian. I just called the # for alumi-bunk in Toledo, it's gone. So will try him. Regarding the fleet owner, I won't accuse him of being a bad one, just stating things I'm seeing, and what this driver is going through. Driver did tell me the owner has 5 trucks...

    New to Load 1

Well, I have had smoother starts with a company, but nothing major, and not Load 1's fault. Had a cpl things to fix on truck, but now no heat in sleeper. Will have to take it to alumi-bunk dealer in Toledo, when done here. A guy in my orientation class is here to drive for a fleet owner (new...

    New to Load 1

lol. I look better from the back :) That's me, front left, with the overgrown head of hair. Granddaughter and i do the Locks For Love, but haven't gone to get it cut yet. Always have had long hair, but this is the longest it's been. A tire change out this AM< then Qcomm and signage, today and...

    New to Load 1

Finished day 2 of orientation, so guess I'm here :) Everyone I've met so far has been real nice. Still have qcomm to be installed, FedEx logos removed and Load 1 logos applied. 2 other FedEx st trucks here, coming on this week. Hope I've found a 'home' :)

You’re going to tow my truck where?

Although I didn't have any situation like the original poster's, I had enough similar ones in the year with FedEx, along with the baby sitting and hand holding (hand cuffing?), that prompted me to leave. One can only take so much :)

    3% back on Gas?

What I was told my bank branch, it is a monthly fee, and only if you use the card for a transaction (one or more). No charge if only using it at a ATM.

    new to expediter

Well, I'll agree with Amonger. I was taught that the more evenly the load weight was spread over the trailer, drive and steer tires, the less rolling resistance, giving you better fuel milage with load. I do the same in the ST, I doubt it's different. As for the downhill, without a jake...

    Is 5 GB enough

Had Verizon smart phone and the 5 gig wireless. Phone service was the pits, and never used the data plan required with the smart phone. Most months, the 5 gig was plenty, but did come close a couple times. And they don't let you know, automatically, when you go over. Now back to a Straight...

Rising Driver Turnover Rate Threatens Shippers

Just curious, Cheri. What would have happened, or what would dispatch have said, if you had pointed out that it was unlikely you would make original del. time, based on the time of day and where you were picking up?

Rising Driver Turnover Rate Threatens Shippers

Heck, driver retention has always been a issue for companies. Or at least since deregulation. Companies used to, and some still may do so, that they had 'one of the lowest driver turnover rates', to show potential recruits what a nice outfit they were. The biggest current effect CSA has had...

    Another SAD Fedex driver....sob sob

Hmmm. So 15 years driving TT, about 1 mil safe miles, but I'm a clown off the street that wants to be a trucker, because I drove for FedEx for a year, and have now chosen to sign on with a different company than Landstar. Guess I know my place, now. And FWIW, while talking to the Landstar...

I wouldn't get one till u have talked to a company, or applied. They may have a particular place they want you to go to, especially if they pay for it. Just curious, why can't u drive a TT any more, with regards to the heart problem? Or are u just wanting away from it?

Thank u to members re: insurance

Hmmm. Didn't say a word about that.

Thank u to members re: insurance

While researching insurance for the truck, came across many positive comments about CIS. Already had 2 quotes when I called them. Seemed like much nicer folks to deal with, and quote was lower than what I had already gotten (way lower than one of them). Thanks.

    The safety snitch?

Ok, I will apologize for the name calling, because yes, he is doing a his job. But it leaves a bad taste that he would walk around inspecting my truck, without saying who he is. And unless he's gonna do a level 1 DOT inspection, he shouldn't find anything wrong on a vehicle that the driver...

    The safety snitch?

Have meant to ask this before, but keep forgetting. But before I leave this forum, I'll ask. I can't recall his name, but am talking about the FedEx safety bozo that drives around in the van, checking out drivers and trucks. I was warned about him initially while in Green for white glove...

It's Sad What Happened at FedEx CC

This whole thing is kinda moot, isn't it? Positive recognition by a company, whether for a employee or a contractor, id a good thing. If a company does away with that, it's probably a bad thing. Regarding the wall itself, it should only be sad to those who were on it, AND cared that they...
