McDonald's flips its golden arches in honor of women. Or in honor of Wendy's or Whataburger, hard to tell.

Mostly just looks like legs spread high in the air. To honor women.

Overheard this morning;

Today is International Women’s Day.

No. That was yesterday.

It was supposed to be yesterday. The women took too long to get ready so they decided to do it today.

Yeah, 'cause that's what this is, a disparagement of women. :rolleyes:
Well, what is it then?
Humor, for one.

But it's also poking fun at McDonald's and the whole meaningless symbolism over substance thing. Flipping the arches did far more for McDonald's in free advertising than it did for women. Women aren't saying to McDonald's (and others), "Show me the W!"

They're saying, "Show me the money!"

I wouldn't call that humorous, but that's just me.

Explain to me how it's the low road.

I didn't disparage women in any way, shape or form. I disparaged McDonald's though, for their shallow, empty gesture designed to benefit them far more than women.

BTW, today is National Meatball Day. Because men want their day, too.

Incidentally, the head of Diversity at McDonald's is a woman named Wendy.
