[h=1]Rand Paul endorses Romney

By ALEXANDER BURNS |[/h][h=5]6/7/12 9:47 PM EDT[/h]Rand Paul endorses Romney - POLITICO.com

File this under signs the Ron Paul campaign is really, truly over: Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul threw his support tonight to Mitt Romney.

The endorsement came in an appearance on "Hannity," a little less than 24 hours after the elder Paul acknowledged in an email that his delegate total is "not enough to win the nomination."

Romney embraced the endorsement in a press release, calling Rand Paul a "leading voice in the effort to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty."

"Over the past three and half years, President Obama has made government more and more of a presence in our lives, and Americans can’t afford four more years of the same failed policies," Romney said. "As president, I will reform the federal government and make it smaller, simpler, and smarter. I am grateful for Sen. Paul’s support and look forward to working with him to get America back on the right track."

OH goody! A person who I would never vote for, endorsing a person I would never vote for, who is running against a thingamabob that I would never vote for. Gotta love it!

Rand said he will be out campaigning with Romney in the coming months. Wonder if that changes things for those who supported Ron Paul or will they just vote none of the above.

No surprise here. Some of the Ron Paul supporters are just shocked. Not sure why? Rand has a political career in front him and his father is retiring. It is obvious he has no chance to win, well except to some of the goofy supporters. Yep, watch for Rand to be out there holding the Romney flag.
I wouldn't expect Ron Paul to endorse him because he has to keep his revolution going in order for them to send money and promote his ideas. A endorsement of Romney may kill that.
If Romney throws some cash in the tin, who knows, old Ron might be swayed.

On a side note, this could ad some entertainment at that convention. Santorum predicts fight with Ron Paul.

Sounds like Rand Paul for VP.

Sure would be hilarious if that happened. The "revolution" would explode. But I don't think he is being talked about or considered at this time.

I hope not, the conspiracy theorists would feel they are right all of the time. They will hold on to it as an example of just how smart they are and forget about the million times they were wrong.

Doesn't matter in the end. If Ron Paul isn't elected this time, the nation's chance of surviving economically and as something freer than a military dictatorship go from slim to none, and it will be the last election ever, at least the last election that doesn't resemble North Korea's or Cuba's, so I don't have to remember that Rand Paul just crossed over to the dark side and never vote for him.

I don't see a way for him to be elected. Ron Paul himself says Romney is the nominee. I'm not seeing any "ifs" that would make it happen. Regardless of who winds up winning, the true needed changes are going to have to come out of Congress.

When we have normal elections in four years can we remind you of this post?

Sure, why not? But I guess we have to define normal first. When was the last honest election?

Well just go by your post saying this one would be the last so we'll compare it to this one.
