Police evict protesters

The Detroit protesters vowed to be peaceful and leave if they are told. We have heard nothing about any rioting this morning, we usually would.

I'm not sure what "wholesome" has to do with any of it, since you can be quite wholesome and contract any number of airborne diseases. In any case, I do think it's interesting that the very people who want the protesters out are the ones confirming the "outbreak".

"Let's see, how can we get these people out of here? I know! I watched a movie called "Outbreak" and they came up with a great plan! Yeah, let's do that!"

The news of the tuberculosis contractions could force Occupy Atlanta to move once again.

Interestingly enough, the two confirmed cases?... those were people who came directly out of the Fulton County Jail, not the protesters, not the shelter. Juuust great.

I imagine big city mayors such as Bloomberg of NYC will conjure up all sorts of psychological ploys to shut down the OWS encampments. Whether it be the spectre of disease or crime, city leaders will declare it is in the public interest to end the Occupiers' street party. Bloomberg is a well-known control freak. The very sight of unruliness and disorder probably causes Bloomberg actual stress. He couldn't allow these protests to continue indefinitely. The business community seeks a return to normalcy.

Doesn't matter what the source if the airborne disease is, when said source mingles with a crowd that's compressed into close quarters using a lot of common facilities, it's a perfect situation for spreading all kinds of diseases. So what if the authorities are just starting rumors to get rid of the occupiers? It's better than having the cops come in with tear gas and fire hoses.

It seems pretty clear that all of these cities and communities that have been tolerating these squatters for weeks on end are finally fed up with them and want them gone. Most of these cities are having enough problems with their budgets without the added expenses resulting from the damage and debris cleanup these "protesters" leave behind. The right to freedom of speech and peaceable assembly is one thing, but to expect the local taxpayers and businesses to tolerate them indefinitely and foot the bill to boot is unreasonable to say the least.

wonder if this could be said about the Boston Tea Party also .

Indeed. I wonder what these local taxpayers and businesses are going to do when the tree of liberty finally gets its "natural manure". Just sit and watch it grow or die, I suppose. I wonder how many have gone down to the protest to ask questions; or is it they just can't be bothered with such filth.

Enough of the protesters already. Do they actually fancy themselves to be some reincarnation of the Tiananmen Square movement? A crackdown is imminent, albeit a little late. Police on horseback, truncheons, water cannon, tear gas, rubber bullets.... who knows? One thing is certain, these self-absorbed crybabies need to grow up and get over it.

Bloomberg's attempt to mollify the anarchists and nilists only emboldened them. This is what 50 years of Liberalism does to a nation. There are hundreds of international flights leaving this country everyday. Perhaps, the truly disaffected could be offered free air fare to the destination of their choice. Look into the heart of this movement and see the dark underbelly of communism-socialism-leftism in action.

How have YOU looked into the heart of this movement? If so, what did YOU see? Were they the pics and videos that CNN, Fox, and the rest of the MSM were showing the audience? Or did you talk to some of the protesters?

I'm curious. Does a protest automatically mean communist, socialist, or leftist? What was your opinion of the tea-party movement? Did you hear about groups infiltrating that movement in order to derail it? Do you not think the same was done to the OWS protest? I mean there are a lot of protesters talking about Big Banks, the Federal Reserve, and corruption in government. Wouldn't it be in the aboves' interest to make the protesters out to be a bunch of loonies? Yes, some of them are. But again, it goes to the HEART of the movement, not the fringes.

When, not if, a revolution starts in the USofA, it will start with protesting... kinda like Tienamin Square... maybe like the Boston Tea Party (yes, that was a protest). Who is likely to derail the movement, and quash the revolution? Those who benefit from the way things are, maybe?

Big business is working our government to get rid of the protesters, any time we try to unite
it worries those that don't want to give up what they have.

I say go for it! protest! protest! protest! that was/is a right we've fought for!

And for the mess?...we don't hear the concern when it's cleaning up after a political gathering or a Christmas parade, concerts in the park and so on!

So I say UNITE AMERICA!!! UNITE!!

These protesters are either a bunch of clueless idiots or a bunch of selfish entitled envious brats. They aren't protesting or changing anything important by staying in that park. Why is a company like Walmart or BofA going to care? Now if they were standing in front of a Walmart or BofA that would put negative attention on the individual company which could force change but right now it is Woodstock without the good music.

I think they have the right to protest but I think they over stepped their bounds by affecting many local business whether through vandalism or the other reported stories.
Are they all made up? Hard to tell.
For the supporters here, I think many would think differently if they protested your trucks for a few months, vandalised and refused to let you leave to pick up that load.
Don't see much different with some of their behavior regardless of the cause.
Some talk quite a lot, but it is much easier when you are not involved and looking at it from a distance.

Many people resisted the American Revolution for the very same reasons. Some were still loyal to the Crown, some didn't want their lives interrupted or inconvenienced, their businesses disrupted, or didn't want to deal with the repercussions of the British Army. And many from afar sat back and criticized, or sat back and agreed. Not much different than it is now. It'll get worse before it get better.

It probably will get worse. But I do wonder how much the internet and 24 hour news media will affect it.

A lot I would imagine. Social Media is playing and will play a large role, so I wonder how long it will be before the "authorities" decide 'enough is enough' with that, as well. As things become violent in certain pockets, that's likely to happen, "in the interest of public safety", I'm sure.

They will get stamped out until they get a cohesive message which they currently don't have. I think they have some valid complaints, but they need to take a closer look at the Tea Party's play book.

Dave,
They have a cohessive message, they're marxists. Glenn Beck has been running audio from actual protest organisers since this stuff started. Its interesting he is the only Major media figure doing it.
