Hedging their bets

The left wing hand wringers are already starting to "hedge their bets" for the up coming election. They know that despite the total backing of the media and the "PupperMaster" that Obama could lose in November 2012.

In pursuit of their destruction of our Constitution and way of life they are looking for a "back up" candidate. They have found that in the person of Mitt Romney.

Want change? Need change? Won't find it if the ReBumLiCans put up the benevolent leftist known as Romney.

Romney's Getting Compliments from Al Gore Now, Too

Elspeth Reeve – Wed Jun 15, 4:19 pm ET
It's bad enough that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has to deal with an endless stream of compliments from President Obama for being the inspiration for Obamacare. But now Romney's getting praise from Al Gore, too? All poor Mitt needs is a nice word from Barbara Streisand and he'll have locked up endorsements from conservatives' three most prominent villains representing their three most hated parts of society: the federal government, environmentalists, and Hollywood.
RELATED: Ron Paul Raised $1 Million Overnight
At a New Hampshire town hall earlier this month, Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy when he said, "I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that. ... It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors." In response, Rush Limbaugh said Romney could kiss the Republican nomination goodbye.

"Good for Mitt Romney," Gore wrote on his blog, as The Hill's Jordan Fabian notes. "While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party."

Given that he has to fight conservatives' anger that he signed into law a bill that mandates individuals buy health insurance--the part of Obama's health care overhaul that conservatives hate the most--it's interesting Romney would take such an unpopular position among his party's base (Limbaugh called climate change a "hoax."). But Romney has said global warming is real for years, and perhaps he's even more afraid of being accused of yet another flip flop.

I wish I could take credit for this statement:

From anonomys in the comments section of the linked article:

I think it's a pretty sad indicator of the intellect of voters, the character of the media, and the tone of our political landscape when a potential presidential candidate can't make a normal, level-headed, non-partisan statement without being mocked for it. Apparently, you're only a "qualified" candidate if you're on the fringe and are willing to bash the opposing party at every speaking event.

Doesn't matter if someone is Democratic or Republican - no one wants to have a real conversation about issues and possible fixes. They just want to mock and fight each other. Go ahead, keep doing that, and voters and media - please - keep fueling the fire. See where we wind up.

For the record, I do not know enough about Global Warming to have an opinion about it. But if I had to answer if it is man-made or natural, I would have to lean towards that it is a natural phenomenon, but open to the science, for or against it.

What I found really interesting about the article was the two quotes the author thought was important enough to add from Limbaugh.

That's like quoting Ed Schultz from MSNBC. Who the h*ll cares what Limbaugh, Schultz or any other entertainer has to say.

Also, I'm still trying to figure out how the Democrats have any influence on who the Republicans nominate as a candidate

I think you missed the point. There is NO REAL difference between our two major political parties. They are both left wing. Both are ignoring our Constitution.

The ONLY difference is the speed in which they want take over completely AND a name.

The left wants control, nothing more. They know Obama could lose, so, they are looking to back as far left a ReBumLiCan as they can.

Outside of the death hit from from the tree - Romney will be lucky to get the nomination and if he does, he won't make it through the election.

If the economy tanks bad enough there is a slim chance Romney could beat Obama. It is not the end of July yet. There is still a fair chance that a candidate of value will run.

To be honest, from what you wrote it didn't sound like that was the point you were trying to make. From reading what you said before the article, it sounded as if your point was the "Left wing hand wringers" were somehow in control of who the Republicans nominate as an opponent to Obama. I'm not sure how you can blame the "Leftists" or the media for whom the Republicans nominate.

Forgive me, but who is "they"?

The left IS in control of both the Dumb-O-Crat and ReBumLiCan parties. They ARE controlling the nomination process in both parties. That is WHY a leftist like Romney is doing well there. That is why McCain was nominated and Bush before him and so on and so on.

The left leaning media will only give "good press" to leftists. No matter how good a centerist or Constitutionalist were, they would NOT be given "fair" treatment by them.

"They" is the American left. they don't believe in freedom or our Constitution. They believe that THEY have a RIGHT to control the People and that THEY are the authority in this country, NOT the People as the Constitutions requires.

And the sheeple fall for their swill while the politicians get rich off of them and take more control over the lives of the sheeple with each passing day.

Me personally, I hope Ron Paul get's the nomination. In my opinion, he is the only one that would actually put forth any idea's and or reform that may make a real difference.

Not sure if anyone watched the GOP debate the other night, but Ron Paul in my opinion made one of the best comments of all here:

Paul received one of the best reactions of any of the candidates after Romney said that if he were president, he would withdraw troops from Afghanistan only if his generals agreed that it was the right move.

"I wouldn’t wait for my generals," Paul responded.

"I’m the commander in chief. I make the decisions. I tell the generals what to do," Paul, 75, said. "I’d bring them home as quickly as possible. And I would get them out of Iraq as well. And I wouldn’t start a war in Libya. I’d quit bombing Yemen. And I’d quit bombing Pakistan. I’d start taking care of people here at home because we could save hundreds of billions of dollars."

*sigh* No wonder the Independent vote is so important.

Ron Paul is best qualified to be Surgeon General, not commander in chief. I would love to see him in that position.

At present there is NO candidate, from EITHER party, that is qualified to tie shoes let alone be president. I pray that just ONCE in my lifetime a honest man/woman or "whatever" who had even a clue about real life would be nominated. Someone who believe in that silly idea of freedom. Who believes that the Bill of Rights is FAR more important than a national health system.

That is correct and that is exactly why I am SO FIERCELY independent. I do NOT back the ReBumLiCans, nor do I support the Dumb-O-Crats. I never have. I do not trust EITHER party nor their candidates OR their ideas.

No, not a nut case, despite what some may think. I have STRONG beliefs. I will not stray from those ideas. Besides, it's FUN to drive others nuts!!
