has anyone had to deal with this?I get a ticket in the mail two weeks later saying i was doing 68 in a 55.The tickets is 75.00 so i dont know if i should fight or pay it.Being the first ticket i have had in 3 years i dont know if it will be worth fighting and ive not got no cdl so i dont know what to do?Any help, besides lay off the gas pedal would be great!
If ya tell them, safety might make an issue out of something there is no record of....I definately would not...why stir the bee hive?I just read on the web site, that this is like a parking ticket. And the way i understand it if paid it does not go on your record. So now do i have to tell my company since it wont count against me?![]()
these automated tickets are just a money thing.you receive no points or anything on your liscense, cause they cant prove who was driving the vehicle. If you have an out of state non cdl liscence,I wouldnt worry about it,they will just turn you over for collection.I was driving my sisters car,got a 40 in a 20,school zone.wasnt during school hours I thought, only to find out,in our area whether the school lites are flashing or not, from 0730 to 1630,speed limit is 20mph.Its been 2 months since I got the ticket, got letter they are turniong over for collection,100 bucks, ill see them on the steps of the court house
Nightcreacher is right..those tickets are sent to the name that is on the vehicle licence registration...they have no way of knowing who was driving and it is NOT a ticket as if you were to get it from a trooper or police officer..it is a Civil deal...my wife has one at home in her name for my daughter driving her car and it is for 35 in a 25....its about a yr old....it ain't gettin paid..
There are lawsuits all over the country challenging these and the red light tickets from the camaras also....they are just a cash grab....
In Ontario with red light cameras...LAW is.....the owner of the vehicle is responsible for the ticket....so you had to be real careful who ya loaned it to....not only the driver went thru the red light so did the car...
Yea the last time I looked, Canada was not the United States and the ticketing process was a bit different.
Overall my solution is not to drive in Cedar Rapids or if I have to, not to speed which I don't speed anyway.

It is the same way here..the ticket is sent to the registered owner of the car...they have no way of knowing who is driving..thats why the tickets are civil and not traffic law and carry no points....because they can't "ticket" the "Driver"...
Its nothing more then a B/S cash grab....
why were you at 68 in a 55 zone?
accept responsibility for your action and pay the fine.
