I usually buy used vans, not sprinters, but don't get me wrong, a Sprinter is a nice ride for cargo. My budget isn't there yet to get one. So, I will be looking for used cv's for the next few years, and as the economy sputters, there maybe some good buys on sprinters as good intentioned drivers turn them in for cost overruns, then I mite jump on one after the former owners have repaired them.........let them take the first hit, there is always another day and used Sprinters like standard cargo vans, will be here for awhile.............

Don't expect price reduced at the Dealers lot any time soon .
as those Sprinters have being payed for in full by the dealers ,and they just payed inventory on them .
you will have to bring on your negotiations skills to the table ,
and the above info. should gives you a heads up .
it will however forced dealers to be more flexible when it comes to your trade inns .
at any case , the first quarter of the year is the best time for upgrades.

good news tho'w .

2 weeks ago i was at a large Frieghtliner dealer , one that specialize in Expedite (& we will leave it like that) ,
they are not ordering the new 2010 SCR's , till they can get all the new 2008 , 2009 , 2010 models they have in stock .
and did not reduced the price on the inventory to reflect that .

The thing that still gets me about sprinters is the 2003 sprinter with 200k on it and the owner wants $23k for the thing.

The resale value of these things are still too high to consider, seeing that the risk to the new owner to put more than 10k into it to fix problems that the po didn't mention is too high still.

i looked at a sprinter with a bentz sleeper. it had 250k miles and the guy still owed after a couple three years 25k for the truck. passed on it.

Asking price and sales price on a used vehicle can be quite different. I can ask for anything, doesn't mean I'll get it:rolleyes:

Prices at the Canadian Benz dealers are 5 to 7 K lower than what Dodge was listing in 2007-8. MB dealer here in town has Blue-Tec units on the lot.

I really wish the harmonization of these emission and safety laws would happen between the US and the EU, it would help all of us a lot and we would not have a single model in the entire world be one size fits for all regulations.
