Yeap.it is surprising that we are hearing this from the left..........

YouTube - Officer Does Not Like anti-Obama Poster: "It ain't [America] no more, OK?"

What a Crock of Dung! That Cop Over Stepped His Authority by a Looooong Shot!! They should Sue Him Personally and Under the Color Of Law, Then go after the Department for Hiring an Ignorant Moron!!
I Know what would Have Happened to me if I would Have Pulled that Stuff when I was On the Job! This Guy shouldn't be any Different! Just another one of those Moronic "Obumma" Supporters!

Then they need to stop using those places as a protest free political meeting place.

If it's not really a school function that the building is being used for, something other than it's designed purpose, then those protections should not apply

1st it was a "protest" and the sign was no different then others that were seen in the backround except that the officer didn't like the fact that there was a joker face of barry on it...but over and above that...the whole situation isn't about the poster..its about the fact that the officer was more then willing to point out that yes THIS AIN'T AMERICA anymore.....and he was happy to work to to continue that movement to restrict the peoples rights and liberties that were once available in America.....

Moot point. It was on school grounds.

actually now that i think about it that is the law and why most schools quit renting out the gym and such to 3rd party operations. they are not covered by there special protections while the event is going on.

this is just off my memory, it is probably way more complex than that

you realize a moot point is one that should be argued and over argued way post the point it should be, we here in America have missed used that phrase allot

An issue that is subject to, or open for discussion or debate; originally, one to be definitively determined by an assembly of the people.

The last time I looked Schools or Churches are not mentioned in the constitution. A sign holding citizen has that right to do that any where he wants, Right?

What's the difference when Churches hold political gatherings or when school union members talk about political issues on school property or when parents protest about a schools action and mention elections of school board members which is a political protest.

Shouldn't those also be restricted to off school property.

I would think that seeing a representative of a district books time to talk to people in his/her district that any protests against or protests against an issue or that person nullifies any laws that are in place preventing any gathering.

Unless it was two years ago, and it was Bush's face on the sign, you mean. Right?

Nope. I don't care either way..I think that guy should have been able to hold up any poster he wanted to.. If it's against the law then it's against the law, but I didn't make the law and I think it diminishes freedom of speech.
