i hope you barry voters / supporters are happy with yourselves....cap & tax, screwing the bondholders with the auto bailout, the auto bailout, the healthcare crap, using union thugs to silence those that disagree with him, starting an "enemies list" of e-mailers that speak 'fishy' of his healthcare plan, now immigration....

Obama sees early 2010 start on immigration reform

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Congress to overhaul the country's immigration system, an issue that fires up emotions on both sides of the political divide, by "early next year."

Speaking to Hispanic reporters at the White House, Obama said he hopes a bill for comprehensive immigration reform will be drafted by the end of this year.

Obama tapped Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on June 25 to work with Congress to speed up immigration reform as senators warned another failed effort could doom chances for a generation.

Obama said he asked Napolitano to meet regularly with lawmakers to systematically work through a number of controversial issues, such as how to handle the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States and how to prevent future illegal immigration.

"We have convened a meeting of all the relevant stakeholders, and Secretary Napolitano is working with the group to start creating the framework for a comprehensive immigration reform," the president said.

Congress failed in 2006 and 2007 to pass immigration reform despite a push by former Republican President George W. Bush.

Earlier this year, Vice President Joe Biden said the U.S. economic slump and soaring unemployment made it a bad time to take on the issue.

Obama has been criticized for not following through on a campaign pledge to tackle the issue this year. He has urged the Democratic-controlled Congress to start pushing now to pass legislation.

Asked if an immigration bill would have enough votes to pass Congress, Obama said he did not know. He also noted as a further complication that next year is an election year.

Obama joked that his opponents had another reason to block his immigration reform effort: "There are many members of the Republican Party who think now that I am illegal immigrant," he said.

Anti-Obama activists have claimed that the president, the son of a Kenyan man and a U.S. woman, was born in Kenya and ineligible to be U.S. president.

That is a REALLY simple problem IF you have "STONES" and are NOT prone to pandering for votes.

1. Close the borders, good and closed, total control
2. Deport ALL illegals, where ever they came from
3. Develope a plan for LEGAL imigration
4. Amend the Constitution to make Standard AMERICAN English our National Language.

How do you propose to do that and who is going to pay for it? That is an insane proposal.

Closing the border is NOT expensive compared to dealing with 12 million invading criminals. Yes, they came here illegally therefor they are criminals. They have NO business being here. Sucking up our education AND health care money.

NO, there is NO law on the books that has made ANY language our OFFICIAL one. At least NOT that I know of. IF there is such a law please tell me where I can find it. Making it OFFICIAL would REQUIRE that ALL official government work be done IN English. It would REQUIRE English to pass the citizenship test, driving tests, voting in English ONLY, NO INTERPRATERS. No exceptions.

IF we had a GOOD imigration plan with good solid borders we would NOT be in the mess we are today.

Defense of the Nation IS the MAIN job of the Federal Government, NOT health care. Protecting our borders IS PART of Defense. Our Government is NOT doing their job.

Defense FIRST, then everything else. SEAL THE BORDERS. It is VERY EASY for terrorists to come in with porus borders. They have to be sealed. THEN we can deal with anything else.

How to pay for it?

Simple - confiscate the property of the people who invaded the country when you deport them.

It is that simple.

If the issue of breaking up the family comes up, remind them that they are equal to any American who commits a crime and they are put in jail without a concern for their family so it is fair to deport the entire family.

Other countries do the same thing, I know of some who lived in France, their parents were from Germany but never applied for the permits to live in France and they got booted even though the kids were born and raised in France.

We need a real border, like i have said using eminent domain take the land from the ranchers and anyone else from the coast of Texas to the coast of San Diego and build a 300 foot wide ravine with a wall on one side and bridges every 500 or so feet.

That is a border.

Never happen with OUR congress. They are NOT interested in the security of our nation, only in getting re-elected to continue lining their own pockets. It is amazing just how many cowards can assemble in one place at one time. Protecting the border IS THEIR JOB and they are NOT doing it. WHY are they STILL in there?

I stand corrected. 30 of the 50 states have adopted English as their official language. Some others are in the process of following suit.

That is correct. The problem is that the Supreme Court CAN and I think HAS ruled some of those laws to be un-constitutional. That is NOW much more likely to happen than before. We HAVE to amend the Constitution, it is the right and proper thing to do. It is the ONLY way we can get that job done. If we amend the Constitution it can no longer be ruled that way.

Hey Dennis, it would not surpise my one bit if Obama and Co. has "stooges" on internet sites just watching for potential enemies. I am not saying that there are any on this site but the left would stoop to nothing to take power.

oh i have no doubt barrys internet czar has people on boards all over the web (maybe not here yet)...nothing would make me happier then to be on one of barrys enemy list....paul newman once said he was proud to have made it on nixons enemy list...if i were to make it onto one of barrys, id be in good company....

but i ahve to tell you, if i am not by now, then they are slacking....lol

I don't believe that Barry is after me. It may happen, fascists DO things like that. I don't think that we have got there yet, BUT, Hitler was able to do it BECAUSE many in Germany did not think things like that could happen either.

It is easier to bury you head in the sand and not accept that it IS possible here and in ANY country. Being warry is NEVER a bad thing. I trust NO politition. Polititions in Europe and Asia last century murdered somewere between 70-100 MILLION people and most in those countries did not think it would ever happen there either. By the way, those numbers DEAD did NOT include the 20-30 million civilians that DIED during the war in Europe to stop Fascism (Barryism) It did NOT include the cilivians that died in the Pacific Theater nor the airmen, marines, soldiers and sailors that DIED because of thinking that it can NEVER happen.

I can't help it. Listening to you guys is like gawking at a bad train wreck. I just can't look away....You guys just want to babble nonsense to each other. why don't you really stand up for what you believe in?...Nobody who can do anything about anything reads this stuff. Go to a town hall meeting, stage a protest, set up a booth at a county fair...do something. A bunch of tired people who are sitting around waiting for their qualcom to beep or to take a shower aren't going to change anything.

Again, you have NO idea what I am involved in. It is kind of hard to do as much as I would like to being in this business, BUT, there is MUCH going on that I AM involved with and if and when I feel the need, I WILL ACT!! IN the meantime I will speak my mind as I see fit. You can ridicule, poke fun, belittle all your heart desires. It makes no never mind to me. I know what I have accomplished in the past, what I am up to now and what I am capable of in the future.

The ONLY thing that I am NOT able to be is a ostchrage (sp?) I never could spell. Spelling and math have ALWAYS been major stumbling blocks for me.

At least I liked that last song. It was kinda funny in it's day.

lol , as Layout said, you have no idea what groups i belong to and support, the work i do on the local level and the national level...if you take the time to look, i just posted a link from a group i belong to about a march on DC...so again, you have no idea what people do to support the efforts they believe in...lol
