If you really wanted to kill Cap and Trade in the Senate, what would you do?

Remember the movie, The Dirty Dozen? Bunch of misfits who nevertheless got it together to take out the Nazi leadership. If you could motivate a similar group to take out the Cap and Trade bill in the Senate, how would you plan, organize, prepare for, and defeat it?

Well our founding fathers said that we the people would need to take back the government from time to time, even if that meant by the blood of tyrants and patriots...i guess people just have to figure out "when have you had enough?"

You see these people all over the world reacting to the injustices of their governments, where is that from the American people????

BUT, you know the even if the Senate kills this B/S Cap and Tax , that the EPA already has the power to impliment it without it being law...........From what i have heard there are already a few lawsuit trying to block this action...

barry wants his control, and he'll do whatever he feels he needs to do to control the people...he has the sheeple because they all are simply good with the government taking care of them with the entitlement programs. Now he is going to give them healthcare at the expense of those that pay income taxes...then they will do whatever he wants and they will except this cap and tax, because they don't pay for it, so they think, but they will in the end...its just that those paying taxes will pay their share and that of those that don't pay income taxes

I believe hand grenades and machine guns on the meeting place of the large group of Nazi's was the method and seemed to work pretty well if I remember the movie correctly.

Unfortunately I Think That's what It Will Take, I wouldn't want to see that Happen But if it does, People tried to tell them and then it sucks to be them!! There is another way that Just Might Work and That's Vote the Incumbents Out, and Hopefully it would avoid any Bloodshed!! I sure Hope So Anyway :(

Before we get a call from the Secret Service, I want to be clear that I was more interested in the 12 misfit part of the Dirty Dozen story than the way they dealt with their problem. They came up with a plan, practiced it, and executed it. In a similar manner, look at the way Obama has allegedly used ACORN to help him get elected. Look at the way he has organized, networked, and strategized to get to where he is. How would you do something similar to defeat the Cap and Trade bill?

If you really want to stop this bs, then it is up to the states (people) to repeal the 17th amendment, the direct election of senators and hand it back to the states to decide how they want to pick senators.

Do you think that would make ANY difference here in Michigan? We would STILL most likely have the same two putz's, or worse, as we do today. We just need to vote out all imcumbents the next time that they are up for re-election.

AS long as Franken is voted out in 6 years. Remember Doug, I cannot stand EITHER party, they are BOTH opposed to the Constitution and freedom. They are BOTH out of control. You seem willing to accept being ruled at times, or you just come accross that way to rile folks, but if you do wish to be ruled I would really like to understand why. DO you REALLY believe that the GOVERNMENT is in charge? Do you really believe that is how it is set up under the Constitution? I cannot fathom being ruled and controlled, that concept is VERY forgein to me. I cannot stand, for example, health care by FORCE. Why can you?

Actually Yes. See I feel that the dems will be out of office soon in this state, people like Andy Dillon and Granholm have p*ssed enough people off and with the demise of the auto industry, the blame game (I inherited this mess from Engler - osund familar) won't go far.

The states were represented by the senate. Because there wasn't a lot of action going on between the states and the feds, the senate was setup for six year terms. The move to 'direct elections' was made not because it was a good idea but because we were being setup for a form of socialism in the early 19th century.

Now they are talking about repealing the 22nd amendment because they want to make Obama King, but that I think may cuase a violent revolt within the country. The real problem is the 17th and reaffirming the 10th. Reaffirming the 10th by the way seems to be going on with Montana and Texas telling the feds they are ignoring some of the gun control laws, haven't look at the progress lately. But the 17th will return the control back to the states where it is needed.

See many don't get this, but california and other states who are asking for a hand out will indeed get the help but by giving up their soverignty within the United States. They will become an extension of the federal government.

You have more faith in Michigan voters than I do, Greg. I hope we can get rid of the scurge that we live under now but the UAW will NOT go down without a HUGE fight. As to soveringnty, States no longer have many rights, the Feds are usurpping them as fast as they can and as a Nation we are doing all we can to do away with our soveringnty.
