Not that I think Sen. Stevens is pure as the wind-driven snow, but it's refreshing to see a fair-minded judge overrule a group of corrupt prosecuters and put them in the crosshairs for their misconduct. Just as was the case with Tom Delay, trumped-up charges were filed for the purpose of creating negative publicity for a Republican leader going into an important campaign season. This has become the modus operandi for the Democrats, and or course the mainstream media cooperates with them to the fullest. The Stevens charges were all over the front pages of the nations' newspapers leading up to the elections - however, you have to dig deep to find this one from the Washington Post:
