At last we have Juju
Writing verse again
Which all makes me wonder
Where on Earth has she been?
She used to write limericks
'Bout any ol thing
How the snow fell in winter
Or sun shined in spring
The words that she wrote
Were good for a smile
Lord knows you need laughs
After driving the miles
So now we've got coffee
The subject of late
Some do love Tim Hortons
But Speedway they hate
Me, I don't drink it
It tastes just like glue
Give me Diet Pepsi
The coffee's for you!
It's good to see laughter
After all of the fuss
I'm tired of the crankies
And gloomy old gus
So now back to trucking
And racking up miles
Perhaps while we tarry

Actually used to have a poetry page back in the day. That's actually where the nic came from... whole thing was lyricaldreamer.. shortened it for here back in 99 I think only Cheri and possibly Coco have seen my stuff. Nice to play with words now and then.

awakening to find
That Dreamer's so good
I'm sure I can't top that
with just one cup of Joe
But hold on to your britches

Wake up Happy!
When in the morning I arise
and look upon the bright sunrise
I wonder what will lay ahead
should I smile or quake with dread?
As we wait for that big load
I scratch and yawn and stretch my toes
all those little aches and pains
could surely ruin my day.
But then I look and see your face
still sleepy and warm from my embrace
Knowing how your glass is full
makes me want to reach my goal
Giving me a little quiver
and the cold does make me shiver
You can pull the covers over your head
OR GET THE HELL UP OUT OF BED!

Beyond the normal mess
We'll get some wit and wisdom
And my skills will get a test
Now some make shake their heads at us
Why do we speak in verse?
But would you rather think on this
Or watch as some just curse?
I like to think on other things
More positive and bless'd
Let's leave the negative behind
And get on with the rest.
For in this life we roll along
And strive to make a buck
Some claim it's all conspiracy

Either way we make the choice

A stranger was seated next to a little 5th grade girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, 'Let's talk.' 'I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'
The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, 'What would you like to talk about?'
Oh,the stranger. 'How about nuclear power?'
'OK'. she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first:.... A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat gr**** the same stuff. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?'
The stranger thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea. '
To which the little girl replies: 'Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know
?'
There is two ways to take this story with a grain of salt and Laugh or get mad because its tells it like it is.
