Hi Everyone,

I got a lot of interesting feedback on my Dec 15th, “Ten Commandments of a Successful Expediter”.   It offered some opinions of what should be expected of an Owner Operator.

But how about the Motor Carrier?   Don’t they deserve Ten Commandments as well? LOL

Here’s some suggestions I received to pass along… with YOU in each sentence representing the Owner Operator.

1.      YOU deserve Honesty from your Motor Carrier

2.      YOU deserve to be treated with Respect and Dignity as a

         Professional in your field

3.      YOU deserve a clear and easy to understand Contract

4.      YOU deserve clear communications from your Motor Carrier

         about your runs

5.      YOU deserve to be paid AS PROMISED by your Motor Carrier

         and no later

6.      YOU deserve to be treated as an Independent Contractor

         Owner Operator, not an employee

7.      YOU deserve to run your small business as you see fit as long

as it complies with your contract with your Motor Carrier

8.      YOU deserve the right to take yourself “off the board”

9.      YOU deserve the right to choose where you purchase your

         Insurance and Fuel

10.   YOU deserve complete cooperation and support from your Motor

Carrier and their Insurance company in the event of a claim

Have a great week everyone!
