Hi Everyone,

Let’s say you’ve been hit by car causing damage to your truck, thankfully everyone is ok, but your truck is needs repairs.   Usually the At-Fault driver has insurance and their Insurance Company pays for the towing & repair costs.   You’re just happy they didn’t chisel the estimate and are finally back on the road.

Wait just a minute; what about the money you lost while waiting to repair the truck?   Did you haul any loads without your truck?   If you’re were able to secure a replacement truck, that’s great, but it’s unusual with Expediting type units.

But where is your reimbursement for “Loss of Use”?   Where is your reimbursement for the expenses for the motel on the night of the accident or the rental car to get you home?    So how much did the accident really cost you?

Do I have a right to expect payment for these losses?   How do I do this? What is involved?   What do you need to provide to substantiate the reimbursement?

Your professional truck insurance agent should be there to advise you with this process.

Warm Regards,
