Hi Everyone,

MATS....What an exhausting but worthwhile event!  John and I traveled in our CIS Show Sprinter down to Louisville, KY for the Mid America Truck Show last week.

From Wednesday morning set up through Saturday night break down, it's just non-stop activity.  Our CIS booth was directly across the Progressive Corporate booth where literally thousands of people line up for their chance to "spin the wheel" to win prizes.

(Of course, our CIS clients enjoyed the advantage of stopping by our booth to sit back to rest, enjoy some snacks and drinks and marvel at the scene across the way while John, Julie and I shared our "private stash" of Progressive freebies provided to agents.)

It's always good for us to exhibit at Trade Shows to meet so many of our current clients in person, and catch up on gossip.  For new people we don't know, it's a great time to explain that CIS is not Progressive...we are simply an agency that chooses to WRITE Progressive.  Because we have such a great relationship with "The Big Kahunas", it's easy to think we're the same company, but our job is still to look out for our Owner Operators and small Motor Carriers.  We are your advocates.

The other reason it's good for us to exhibit at Trade Shows is to remind ME how hard it must be to live out of a Sprinter or Truck.  I've always considered myself an organized person, but trying to keep everything straight inside such a small, confined compartment is hard!

On a more sober note, we learned that Load One Owner Operator, Steve Wolfe, lost his beloved dog, Ruby or "Rubes".  She must have been one in a million, as she never left his side through all of Steve's surgeries...she'd either be in his lap or at his feet.  Shirley had to bring food to her because she wouldn't leave him.

We're all big animal lovers at CIS, and our hearts go out to Steve for the special love and life he shared with Ruby....our sympathies, Steve & Shirley.
