Weekly Chore

We drag our sheets, work clothes, laundry soap, hangers and often a book, or I will crochet while waiting. The going price seems to be $2.00 to and wash and another $2.00 to dry and I usually have two loads a week.  This is also tax deductible and I keep track of this cash expense in Quicken. It is a real treat to find a nice clean well lit  laundry room with plenty of room to hang up our shirts and slacks. We never know what we are going to get in the laundry room; washers that need to wiped out, dryers that do not heat or dryers that fry our clothes. Another thing we never know is who we are going to meet in the laundry room. Over the years we have them all; the new driver trying to be cool, people who are lonely, people who are blowhards, people who are very interesting, and others who never say a word. One of my pet peeves is the people who start their clothes then go eat, watch TV, or take a shower and do not come back. I have finally started moving their clothes for them either to the dryer or to the folding table. Most of the laundry rooms have just a couple washers and dryers and one person not taking care of their clothes can tie others up for the whole day.  It is nice though when done and the bed has nice clean smelling sheets and we are ready to go for another week!
