We all have our favorite apps.  You find apps are helpful on finding parking, fuel prices, weather, traffic, instructions for docks, and many other things. 

Here are our top apps that we use in our operation in alphabetic order:

AMBest – Check your points and shower balance and roadside assistance.  You and find locations near you and see all locations.

Blue Beacon – Information of locations of the truck washes.

CAT Scale – Find a scale location, use the weight my truck app.

Dock411 – This app is the 411 of shipper and receiver facilities.  Drivers enter information on the facilities that then can help the next driver to go into that facility.

EZ-Placard – Use this to check what placards are needed for your Hazmat load.

FleetAdvance – If you use Comdata as your payment method from your carrier and how you purchase fuel than this app is great for checking your balance, transferring money to your bank account.  If the carrier has fuel discounts than this will allow see the cheapest locations for fuel.

Love’s Connect – Find locations, current deals, book showers, create a route.

NOAA Weather Free – They have good radar.

Pilot Flying J My Rewards Plus – Check locations, see your rewards balance, check current offers, book showers.

Roady’s – Locate locations, check your rewards balance, and build your favorite list.

TollGuru – You can calculate how much a route will cost you in tolls.  It will show you if you are paying cash or electronic tolling.

TRANSFLO – We submit our paperwork to our carrier with this app.  We take pictures of each page (like BOL, etc) and then submit them.  We get an email with a link that we can down load the PDF file of the scanned documents, we then save that PDF as a record of our paperwork submission.

Trucker Path – You can check the parking availability at locations (this information is entered by users).  It also shows you (blood red, red, amber, and green) for how traffic is flowing.  It is customizable of what type of locations you want to see.

TruckSmart – This is the TA/Petro app.  You can book showers, shop time, etc.  You are able to see different sites and what amenities they offer.

Weawow – Local weather specific is hours of daylight which is a visual presentation.

Windy – Use this app to check weather conditions.  Wind direction and strength, current rain and snow.  This is also a good predictor of future wind, rain, snow, sleet, etc.

This just the list of our top apps we use for our operations.  We hope you find some in our list that can help you in your operation.

We thought we would do some research on other apps that might be helpful to our operation and maybe yours also.  Here is a list of ones we found that might be helpful to you:

Drivewyze – This is a paid service for bypassing weight stations.  They cover over 700 sites in 44 states.

Gas Buddy – This is another app that will help you save money on fuel.

Hammer – This a trucker routing app.

iExit – This will allow you to look up to 100 exits in front of you for trucking services (truck stops, rest areas, etc)

My Radar – Gives current weather conditions and will predict two hours out on precipitation.

Trucker Tools – Another app much like Trucker Path.  It will allow you to route plan, find truck services.

Waze – This a real time traffic.  You would be able to see traffic situations and possible avoid them.  It was not developed for truckers though.
