Someone is Watching YOU

DOT is now going to have more teeth and the driver is going to get penalized if they do not pass a safety inspection. Your driver rating can help or adversely affect the company you are leased to.   One of the more interesting facts is that a warning is just as bad as an actual ticket.   Check all of your clearance lights on your pre trip in the morning then pull into a scale and one light is out there goes points against you.   If you are a driver and not an O/O by signing your log book or driving the truck you will also be saying everything is fine with the truck and trailer.   Your personal weight is also going to become a huge issue as there is a pretty big possibility that BMI is going to be included with the driver safety rating.   No more of any doctor being able to give you a DOT certificate as there will be stricter standards on who can give a DOT physical and the doctors will have to be certified.   Our health needs to be looked at now before you flunk a DOT physical.   Right now what happens to your truck at a scale or even a warning ticket will cause you some grief later on down the road as the tickets you get now will go into the program at triple points!

We have been attending conferences and reading as much as we can about CSA 2010 as this has the possibility to make or break a driver.   We plan on staying ahead of the game and becoming one of the trucks a company will want to have lease to them to help with their safety rating.   You can read more here about how this will affect a driver: http://www.csa2010.com/
