Sleeping like the dead

When we first started getting a good nights sleep when parked seemed impossible unless we were able to sleep in a location that did not have ANY traffic and we did not use our generator.   Every little noise woke us up from someone talking to truck noises.   It is amazing how many noises there are in a truck stop or in a parking lot.   Now after many years out here the “normal” noises have no affect on us.   Let someone knock on the truck door and it is like having the worst alarm possible going off and we are immediately WIDE awake.   Another sound that still bothers us is parking where vehicles can drive by the truck.   We do not sleep well when parked at retail centers or non truck specific parking as we are concerned with the truck being tagged, towed or being woke up by security knocking on the door telling us to move on.  When parked at a truck stop it is kind of funny because during the night you can change neighbors many times and all you can do is trust that they are not going to park their truck on top of your truck. Our generator can start and shut off and we do not wake, most reefers do not bother us and someone idling their truck is usually no big deal unless they have an air leak. We have just lately started sleeping so hard that if one of us is asleep the other can come to bed at their regular time or the other can get up at their regular time and you do not notice.   Kind of scary that someone can actually climb over you and you do not wake up.   Now if one of us gets up at an odd time the other is immediately awake wondering what the problem is.
