It's a Team's Life

Say What?

When a delivery or pick up location is new to us, we call the customer to confirm the location.  If we have an early morning appointment, we ask if it would be possible to park there over-night.

The relief is great as we know where we will park and know that we will not have to fight rush hour traffic to arrive at their location first thing in the morning.  Many of the customer's locations are tranquil until the trash is picked up, which seems to be between 3 and 4 in the morning.  Up until that time, it is fantastic to get a quiet night's sleep and be ready to drive first thing in the morning to get our next load.

Sometimes though, this plan backfires when an overzealous receiver wants to help to get us going.  The knock comes on the door very early, and a cheerful voice saying I know if your wheels are not turning, you are not making money so let's get you unloaded!  How often we want to say NO let us sleep till our appointment as it is ok.  But nope, we get up to unload the truck and then wonder where we are now going to find a parking spot.

I am sure all of us drivers want to send out a huge THANKS to our customers that allow us to park on their property and enjoy a quiet night's sleep.
