Planning Christmas

Last year was an odd year for us as our youngest daughter was over in Iraq for Thanksgiving and Christmas.   We are a pretty close family and this was sure a little different for us.   This year though she will not deploy till after the first of the year.   We have planned a very different Christmas for us this year.   We always have stockings for each member or the family that magically becomes full on Christmas morning that we all enjoy but this year there will be no gifts exchanged.   We have instead decided to create memories based on each person’s likes.   Each person will plan an event based on what they would normally spend.   Our oldest daughter is a hockey fan so she has purchased tickets to go watch the Blue’s play.   For her day we will be visiting the Budweiser brewery which is free and then having a picnic supper and then on to the Hockey Game where each of us will be responsible for any drinks or souvenirs we might want.   Our youngest daughter is planning a supper at the house and then an hour at a Message Envy location; Bob and I are taking everyone to see the Broadway play Chicago and then dinner at the Melting Pot.   My sister likes to Scrapbook so she has a dinner planned at the house and then a relaxing evening of learning to make an awesome scrapbook and some very cool ideas on how to decorate it.   Bob has plans of highlighting our recent Richard Petty Driving Experience.   I believe in years to come we will remember and enjoy this Christmas as one of the best we have ever had.
